hear nothing but great stuff about SpearTech and Wait4me on here.

I hear lots of bad stuff about Painless' replacement wiring harnesses, but don't know anything about their LS1 conversion harnesses.

Send the harness and PCM, both, to Wait4me and when it comes back the harness will be ready to hookup and the PCM will be programmed properly for your needs.

I chose to use Speartech. Buying a new harness gave the the option of having it longer than stock. The stock harness is a bit short and limits mounting locations. I'm planning on mouting mine behind the glove box in my '68 cutlass project.

I choose myself. The harness is very easy to work on and the main harness is very to depin at the ECU plugs. We pulled about 40 wires or more out of my harness and now its bare minimum other than my A/C stuff.

+1. I did mine on my own as well. However If you are not comfortable with wiring....

I sent my PCM to wait4me to be reprogrammed. They turned it around quick.

+1 for DIY, pretty simple stuff, get schematics and pinouts from the stickies and start eliminating wires. Have a sponsor program the PCM. Game over.

For the VATS you can either build a bypass box, or you can tune it out of the computer.

Even if the motor will be stock, there will still be some extra wires A/C, powersteering, emissions, etc. You can either leave those wires in the harness or eliminate them.

So what bad about leaving them ??? Why not just get a tune and hook up the few wires you need to and forget about the extra wires?

For $350 I'll look at the loose wires.

So they dont add anything to them ? They just take stuff out and retape it?

The harness will look like crap if you leave all the extra BS in it but whatever floats your boat.

You dont need $350 to elimate the wires, cut the connectors off right at the harness and stick them inside the tubing then tape over it. Take your ecm connectors apart and remove the pins, cut the wires back at the wire junction, the wires will still be in the harness but will be hidden.

So I just cut out the plugs of the stuff I won use and then I got to the plgu @ the ecm and remove the pins according to the diagram?
