Default LS2 Powered 2004 NISSAN 350Z (soon to be 454 LSX)

First off I would like to thank Brian Hinson and the team at Hinson Supercars. I am not an easy customer and created many, many delays in getting this done (more-so than anybody should have put up with). Not only did he put up with me he did an amazing job in creating the World's First Chevy Powered 350Z.

Pete from BC Racing helped me keep my sanity as well as my wheels planted on the ground.
GM provided me with the LSX block, work wheels with some wheels, Vredestein with the sticky tires, Jesse from J and J Vinyl CO who will be installing my vinyls at the convention center last minute and GTSPEC for helping me ship a million and one things to a million and one places.

Everything has been changed in the car including a full Project Mu 4-wheel big brake kit and Corbeau Setas and 5 point harnesses.

The car debuted at 2007's SEMA show and needless to say it was a success.

I am working on finishing my 454 LSX motor so that the car can compete in 2008's Redline Time Attack series against the hoardes of turbo'ed vechicles.

Now on to the pictures:

Thanks man!

I have not been in posession of the car for quite some time...but the entire interior is custom C/F and suede....with red 5-point belts...( i am sure more and more pics will be popping up on the web from SEMA soon)

Oh wheel and tires:

Thanks, just wait until the 454 is done.

The backwards vinyls are a trend in todays import market, one i do not understand, but a trend none-the-less. If i was to redo one thing for SEMA it would be the backwards design (as that seems to be the only complaint/constructive criticism to date)

I appreciate all of the kind comments, I was actually hesitant to post this and I thought I would be hated by import and domestic fans!!!

Only thing I can think is that the vinyls are backwards that way when we beat them we can read it in our rearview mirrors, lol. But again Great job, I like it alot.

I saw the car at SEMA, and probably talked to you. That's weird, I did not recall the decals being reverse. Car is cool for sure.

regarding the weigh-loss: I do not have those specs in front of me. I will get them up after I catch up on some much needed drinking this weekend.

John: yes we did meet and speak at sema...but did so on the drivers side of the car....where things are printed normally....

Are you located on the East Coast?

I'm curious what the car weighs as well.

A 454 LSX is an iron block and for what you are trying to achieve you don't want the additional 100lbs up front. That is the last thing you want. With that many cubes you better have 335/18's out back and 3:25 or 3:50 gears or you won't be able to put the power down either.

If you have the money you should build a high revving dry sump LS7. You need oil control if you are going to road race that car for sure.

Looks nice.

I have been waiting from Brian to have more info on this - I might find a G35/LSx sedan hard to resist

the reason why the decals are backwards is that they are probably done correctly on the drivers side. but they just make it look like you see through the car and see them backwards on the pass side.. or at least thats how its suppose to be....

my guess is that you removed all the interior stuff.. including all the body control modules? ive heard thats the biggest problem on doing a swap into one of those cars is that the ECM is integrated into the BCM and they have to work together if you want to keep your radio.. power windows etc.

The other reason people put decals or graphics on backwards is to make the car symetrical. One one side they are backwards and the other side they are normal. That way they fit the body lines of the car exactly the same on both sides.

Started as a trend in Japan and worked it's way to the American import crowd.

Are you using the stock GTO PCM?

I would also be curious in knowing what the stock V6 weighed in at compared with the LS2.
