I think they will work and plan on ordering them from Jegs this week. The 99 tahoe, suburban are the same front end that you have and edelbrock shows that in their catalog for the 5.3. I have a 95 gmc that I'm installing a 6.0 in. I'm collecting all the parts now and plan to install in the next month. I'm going to use the shorty 350-65002 which is the ceramic coated. I'm also changing cam, spring, oil pump, push rods and roller lifters. I'm getting this stuff from sd performance (scroggins/dickey). I think thats how you spell it. Good luck

You're correct that the '99 SUVs were still GMT400 and not GMT800. But they still had the L31 Vortec 350 (or the Vortec 7400 454), not a GenIII engine.

Correct, and there are two different headers for that application. The ones I'm talking about are for the 5.3 and 6.0. I have the same headers you spoke of on my truck now and I have the 5.7. My 5.7 headers won't work on the 6.0. So, gotta buy some new ones. Edelbrock shows both applications in Jegs. Hope this does clear up some of the questions.

Catalog LT Headers
From all my research over the years on this subject, most of the long tubes on the market fit the drivers side, but not the passenger side, when ordered for a '99 & up 5.3 truck. I bought & installed the S & P "G-Body" headers, which fit pretty nice. They are mid-length headers though.

ls1gmctruck, how did you handle your ac on your 96. I'm putting the 6.0 in mine with the 4l80e and I'm hearing from street and performance that the ac compressor won't work on my truck for some weird reason, I think they just want to sell me a new compressor. I know it won't work down low and I need to raise it up. What did you do? I just ordered the 99 headers for mine in the shorty version. They should work fine.

Headers & A/C
Let us know how those headers work out. I would like to find some large primary, long-tubes, that fit our application. I set my LS1 2 1/2" farther back than any of the factory engines would have been, in the engine compartment, right up against the firewall. This placement, I'm sure, helped with the passenger header fitment. As for the factory v-7 compressor working with the rest of our system, I don't know. You would have to try it by cutting the frame for compressor clearance, which I did'nt want to do. I went with the S & P Sanden 508 set-up, with the 2 idler pulleys, etc., that they sell. One belt for everything then. The truck A/C comes with metric hoses fittings/connections, the Sanden has regular SAE port fittings. The regular SAE hose end fittings are common, the metrics are not. This is where I found the metric hose ends you will need. www.raysautoairandheat.com Let me know if I can help any further, as I know how difficult it was for me to gather all this information.
