Thanks you. And I'm glad it helped a little! With the typical intercooler and the like type work in am using 3/32 4043. I go to an 1/8 rod when I am doing heavier and running an 1/8 tungsten

Sorry to leave you hanging. Tell me what connectors you want and I will get you the part numbers. All the engine side connectors are metripack 150 FYI . if you need me to explain more I can

I have got it together and have been putting some miles on it. All has been great and everything working very well so far, I have been bringing the boost up slowly since I have to make a tune from scratch

Cam and intake seen to be working very well together

Makes around 14hg at idle.

I had been worried about getting up on the brake with the big turbo (gt55) after changing the cam and this intake vs the stock intake with long runners as it was on the edge with the last motor. But surprisingly it pops up on the brake easier. So that is a good deal

Also. I was worried about throttle responce and if it would be goofy or really slow with the intake layout like this. But it is quite the opposite compared to the old motor setup. It is very snappy. It doesn't take but a quick jab to put it on the limiter in neutral. Wasn't expecting this

The fueling corresponds to this too. My tip in fuel is quite high, if this is do to the large plenum volume or what I don't know. There is no bog or sputter, I will get a vid of this

Also seems to have shifted tq about where I want it. Only spun ot to 7500 so far but VE peaks at 7k and it is very stable from 6k all the way to 7.5k so far

Is that approximately 62mph at 2,000rpm? With the glide still???

Not bad! What gear and tire diameter is required for that?

Oh, one more thing, are your crank case evac tubes going to slash cut tubes in the 3" exhaust, or to some catch can toward the back?

Yeah it's a 3.27 and 28" tire on the street. And yeah it is the slash cut with the check valves in the the full exhaust. I'll put up a pic
I have two mufflers now

There is no catch cans

OK back onto some data

Been putting alot of miles on, runs well no issues, been turning the power up so time to finally dig into some plugs

Here we have e50. Br7ef plugs, 15* at 5k ramping to 18* at 7500rpm, this is warming the car up, swapping the plugs in on the side of the highway and them killing it and coasting and pulling the plugs

This is ramping the power in slow but I am touching just about 20psi and 7500rpm at shutdown (175mph)

Anyway you can let me know what you think, I will do some cylinder trimming and report back pics

Cylinder 7 is the warmest hole for sure

So number 7 for sure needs some, and so does 1,..... 5 and 8 need some out

Nice. That's the kind of fine tuning that separates great running cars from the pack.

What AFR are you targeting at full boost with the E50 mix? I am assuming no meth.

Hard to see the heat lines on #1 and #8 are they past the bend? Can you trim timing to each cyl as well?

Interesting to see how an e50 plug looks compared to an e90 plug. I didn't cut away the threads and mainly look at the ring and strap. My e90 gives a bit of a chalky grey appearance. Same plug, similar boost, 12* timing, 11.4 commanded AFR. I played with the trims quite a bit to get the plugs this close. Think I'll remove some from 1 and 5, but it's getting close. These were form the last track visit.

Cut your bodies off once. I wanna see what kind of/if any fuel ring you get on that much ethanol

I am in the middle ground so I don't know what really to expect for a fuel ring all I know is the heat on my body corresponds directly to the appearance of the fuel ring on mine

Just Chuck the plug in a cordless drill and use a .035 cutoff wheel on a angle grinder and u can cut each plug in 5 seconds

I am targeting 11.2 right now until I have a handle on all cylinders. I plan to move to 11.5

I also plan to try a -8 plug. It should make seeing a defined fuel ring easier from

Yeah I can trim fuel and spark

In those pics #1 the strap is burnt back even where the others are. The light just hits it goofy. #8 is just barely burning

Keep the info going on this. Not much out there for plug stuff and actually reading with doing it right

Im glad you posted this. The trend of the heat in th cylinders is exactly the same in yours as in mine. Completely different intake. I wonder if it has to do with the firing order paired with the coolant flow

I did a #5 and #7 last night. These are my cylinders with the biggest contrast. 1* out on #7. And now the strap is right inline with the others.

Still need a bit more fuel on 7 gonna pull little bit on 5

Hard to see in pics. But looks close and you can see the fuel ring hanging down there

Also did u hit yours with brake clean? Doesn't look like u did? And are those 7s?

No brake clean and yes they are 7s. The e85 plugs I cut in the past had very little fuel indication on the porcelain. Most of the methanol guys tune by the fuel ring/threads/strap. Somewhat relevant thread on alky plugs with pics on theturboforums.

Thanks for the link! I hadn't seen that one

I haven't got my 8s get to try. So just been working with the 7s some more

Here is the kind of heat I look for and tune for. All are getting very close to this now

Cleaned the car up good for a carshow. Lots of bugs to scrub off lol

Also got the hood done. Don't know if I will mold in a cover over the intake this winter or not, kinda like it now.

I bonded the inner skeleton and outer skin together so it is very strong, not flop

Wrapped it too

Amazing setup!

Planning a trip to the track any time soon? I imagine they might start to give you **** if you go faster than 8.50, huh?

OK I made my annual track day. I had 3 goals, hit my chassis cert, 165mph and under a 1.40 60ft

I got them all so it was successful!

I planned on running power up to where my fuel system was maxed on e50, then switch to c16 and let er really buck.

With the new shocks the car worked very well leaving. I didn't get after the launch because I didn't want to break a 1310 ujoint early on since planned to stay for 2 days

First pass car hooked and shutdown 2.6 seconds into the run, boost was rising faster than fuel ever has for me and I barely clipped my MAP vs fuel pressure shutdown and the ECU shut the motor off

Second pass. Resulted in this. 18psi/17*,4200rpm 2step, 7psi launch

Name: IMG_20150912_111632295_HDR_zpsg7prbhtf.jpg
Views: 144
Size: 3.68 MB

Third pass bumped the 2step to 4400, 20lbs/16*,7lb launch

Name: IMG_20150912_114302626_HDR_zpsztbypklr.jpg
Views: 181
Size: 3.28 MB

4th pass

4400 step, 7lb launch, faster ramp rate, 21psi/16*

Name: IMG_20150912_125354452_HDR_zpsialiimjz.jpg
Views: 232
Size: 2.98 MB

Next pass, well I fucked up.... I forgot to turn on the IC pump. Instead of 84* peak I saw 240 lol

Car slowed.... I got nervous, I checked the overflow and had a couple ounces of coolant in it. Figured I rattled it some and unseated the heads. They are never the same once this happens, and I wasn't gonna add more power and risk a blowout and torch a head, since I want to sell these this winter.

So I decided to make one last pass, because I really wanted to try the new mickey etr DR I brought with. 26" 275/50r15 on a 7" wheel.

Left everything the same, except I dropped the launch boost and ramp down, I figured no way those things would hold much since the track was already going away for setup slick cars

But it yeilded this, the tires are amazing, they wanted a ton more, wish I had started the day on themthem

That was the last pass the track allowed for the day

So worried about the HGs I headed the 400mile trip home. Halfway home fueling the pickup I checked the car over since it had fully cooled, the damn thing had recovered all the coolant and had zero residual pressure, so it was fine, confirmed with multiple 20lb high gear hits since home

Should of stayed but was playing it safe I guess lol

On the 21lb track passes was a max of 80%dc on e50 so there was a good bit left even with e50 before going to c16.

Another thing to note is the intake is working really well. It def isn't choking or anything up top and the plugs are burning really nice and even. And if you pay attention on the videos you can see how fast that big bitch of a turbo gets on the two step.

Here are some vids. Its crazy for how soft it looked and felt leaving to give those short times. I wish I had more time because I have no doubt now I can really get that thing to leave

I need some front shocks still so I can slow that thing down some for next time. Can note now with the double adjustable the axle separates on the hit sticking the tire and is held there, no bouncing or squatting bullshit anymore

Here is DR pass(smoke is because I never closed by cutout between passes to cleanse the crankcase breather from the previous run)

Here is passenger side suspension

Another, this is first pass when the engine shutdown 2.6 in

And because I'm posting vids, here is one from this morning lol
