Default 01 SOM WS6 Vert.... rare?

SO.... Long story short, I'm forced into the market for a car (since my Beater Saturn got stolen/totalled), and I found an 01 WS6 Vert, SOM, 22k miles. Auto. Is that considered a rare car? Its a decent price (~14.9k), and I've missed my old 98 TA since i sold it over a year ago. . .

This car would be my DD for a while, until i buy another beater. But I really want an F-body. Should I make the plunge? Also, what are some common issuse with 4th-Gen Verts I should look out for?

Charlie.

22k miles on a SOM Ws6? Jump on it! The SOM vert is a beauty.

Yes, it is a rare combo.

Thats a GREAT price.

As far as how rare, who knows? The breakdown for the 01 cars doesnt include colors so all you can go buy is how many were made per model.

No color breakdown that I've found on '01s.

1 of 37 SOM ws6 converts
Then you can figure auto or 6 spd maybe 50 % so one of 17 or so yeah pretty rare for that price I would be all over it.
I would never let mine go for that.

100 - 150lbs more depending whose #'s you believe. It's not going to impact gas mileage much. Besides, while I do drive to conserve fuel when I'm not flogging my car, the bottom line is these are not Prius's. Highway mileage is pretty good, especially for the M6.

Its an A4 car... but its got the 3.23 gears, so i'm okay with this.

Im also looking at a 1998 NBM TA, M6, only 89k... for $6900. Car is in GREAT shape. I might get it for the fact that it's an M6, and T-tops, and $8000 cheaper... think of the mods! Plus, I miss my t-tops and look of the hatch/wing. It's kinda a draw for me.

My room-mate has an 02 Z28, NBM. We'd have matching NBM f-bodies side-by-side in the garage... I'd never close the garage door!!

Very good, first time I've seen this detail on '01s. I would think that by 9/19/01 the MY '02 production would've been well underway. The total black WS6s is consistent w/ another breakdown I found that ASC gave to an owner of a specific black car. So that correlation adds credibility to these numbers.
