Default Darton sleeve 427 - first engine dyno numbers.

604 HP at 6k and 588 Torque at 4800. The engine is 5 minutes old w/ w40 break in oil. Ed didn't get a chance to really finish the tune and Shawn never ran the engine over 6k. We're all pretty happy with the early results. This is with the same small cam I ran in my 403. We're far from done but these are the first numbers. New cam and FAST coming.

Great numbers Kevin. Also glad to see a new thread started. The other one was getting too big LOL.

Can't wait to see final numbers on the engine dyno, and then what she does installed and on the chassis dyno.

Very nice numbers. Those will come up a little bit once the engine has some more run time on it.

I think there's probably another 20 or so with lighter oil, more time and more tuning just as it is but this is a pretty good first run.

We picked up about 15 with the new cam. Another 15 with the port matched FAST 102 and big TB. Shawn has some more ideas for the FAST that involve more than simple porting. He finished at 635HP with the motor idling at 500RPM which should tell you how small this cam is. Shawn believes it will come off the engine dyno at 650HP.

650 hp is a nice engine dyno number. I think I'd take that based on how mannerful you want your engine. Its nice to know that you can always stick a thumper in there sometime and throw manners to the wind if you ever wanted to have a rip snorting race car. LOL Kevin, I know you'll never do that. The only power you want is power that doesn't cause any loss of drivability.

I guess down the road 5 yrs or so we'll be reading about the 800 hp 500 ci monster that idles and drives like stock?

You never told me, does the wife ever drive your car ? Or does she have any interest in driving it ?

My wife drove the car once on the way back from Florida when I bought it - showroom stock. At the top of a ramp she couldn't find the clutch pedal. A little excitement ensued and she has had no interest in driving the car since. It's perfectly drivable for her still but she's afraid of the power or that she'll crash it. She loves riding in it though whether around town or on long trips. We take it to Cape Cod each summer and it's been on a couple of other 1000 mile trips.

BTW: She does look really good in the passenger seat as I remind her everytime she gets in.

Ok after a claim like that we need photo evidence. J/K Kevin, I'm sure she looks great in the car. Nothing like having a co pilot for the long trips. Glad to hear that she didn't wreck it the day you bought it.

Subscribed for FINAL Results.

Is those sleeves shifting just with power adders?

Well done. Remember people - this is a small cam/very mild build. Shawn says there is 75hp difference from their engine dyno to their DJ. (581/539)

Here's the dyno chronology:

427 Old Cam............................................605/588

427 New Cam...........................................621/601

427 Port Matched FAST w/ 90mm TB............633/616

427 Shawn Miller massaged FAST/107mm TB..656/614

It looks like Shawn managed to get the FAST to produce 35hp with the FAST. Not too bad,

Will this be fun - or what???

The guys strapped it down on the DynoJet and we've got some first numbers.

It idles at 800RPM smooth as glass which should tell you how small the cam is.

Ed tells me he and Shawn might not be done quite yet.

Not to bad 576/530!!!!!
