Default At the race track

Finally made it to the races. 2001 Formula 3600lb. with driver,Slp cold air pkg., Slp loudmouth catback 3" exhaust, Pacesetter longtube headers, LS6 intake, ZO6 heads (243's) and cam pkg. (204/218 .550/.551 117.5 lsa), M/T 275x60x15 DR and M/T skinnies up front, stock A4 trans and stock converter, 373 Richmond gears. I made 7 passes........DA at 1230.

1... 60ft. 2.036 E/T 8.374 MPH 87.05
2... 2.048 8.488 86.03
3... 2.059 8.444 86.67
4... 2.039 8.419 86.71
5... 2.015 8.433 86.04
6... 2.079 8.571 85.21
7... 2.025 8.382 84.69

I'm not sure if these are good numbers or bad (new to LS1 cars). I launched the car as recommended by LS1 tech threads which was off idle (600rpm's). I also forgot to take air out of M/T's which were at 25psi. After reading many drag racing results with similar bolt ons, the times seem kinda slow. I would appreciate any comments whether good or bad. Thanks

I think your times are slow and stock converter is hurting you. Put MTs at about 15-16. get 60' down. Tune ? I get 1.75 60s,,8.1 @ 84.9 1/8 in my LT1

I appreciate everyone's input. I just bought the car a month ago so I'm not sure about the tune ( I heard it should have one). I do know I need a converter and will be making that purchase for next year ($$$$$). I live in Western N.Y. and I've been told there aren't many places around here that specialize in LS1 performance tunes. This area caters more to the nostalgia muscle cars than anything else. Any suggestions for good tuners in the Buffalo area? Thanks again for all your help.

the converter isn't as important with a stockish cam like that. it's not like you're *really hurting from using the stock one. you are leaving .8-1 sec on the table with the stock converter as you would with even a stock ls1 head/cam setup.

i'd look into getting it tuned. i'd look for 114-116mph from that setup.

You NEED a converter badly!!! Try going with a 3600 or higher. HUGE difference!!!!
I have never seen a H/C LS1 with a stock stall. How is the drivability???

As said above the converter isn't just killing you but would definitely help. I usually leave around 1200 or so. Once you get a converter it's time for a tune anyway.

The car drives fine. No issues. Just lazy out of the hole. When I nail it to the floor it seems like the car just stalled for a moment and then starts to move. When the rpm's start climbing then the car starts to pull. Trans shifts around 5900-6000rpm. I have a tune scheduled for late July at New Era Performance. Hopefully that will help some.

Yeah something is def. wrong, if it be the tune or the stall. But, I have a stock motor with below mods, and I run a 2.0 60ft and a 13.0 @ 108 quarter mile...
