Finally in the 9s, 6 speed, pump gas, then drove home - video inside now..
Well had been battling it all year, had run more 10.01/10.02 than I care to mention spraying in second gear, last week ran 5 consecutive 10.02-10.03 passes all with suffering 60fts keeping me from my goal.. The ET streets were wadding up bad, decided to go with STiff wall hoosier..
Ventured to Maryland yesterday 5.5 hr drive from PA being local track closed,
First pass had slipped clutch some at 6k, was still trained from bad traction prior, reason for slipping, but car had hooked well I could feel, 1.50 60ft running 9.96 @ 141, second pass I let clutch fly and hooked a 1.46 running a 9.88 @ 142..
Then placed back on trailer before I broke anything - had noticed a few weeks ago a crack running from Timing cover bottom to pan rail, it seems I cracked the webbing on # 1 main, knowing this I still tried to meet my goal as I have been obsessed.. I had never planned to spray nearly as much as I had this year but was obsessed with meeting my goal.. Car has run 10.61 N/A and wanted to get to hit a 10.5x yesterday but figured I should not press my luck with the block.
So shortly into trip home cousins T-Type broke fuel pump along DC beltway (6 lane hwy) Had to swap rear wheels along rd due to rain, and drive my machine 5hrs home, not going to act like its comfortable, but cruises 70mph at 1900 rpm nicely and got decent mileage. But the seats put a beating on you, soon to swap back to stockers I think. Will have some video posted soon and nice pic from track photos
Plan for winter is to Swap Mini Ram for a single plain and Faceplate trans, I think I can get down to high 10.3s N/A.

Thank you guys, rear tires are Hoosier Stiff Wall 28" x 10.5"s on 8" wheel with no tubes, I am likely gonna put tubes in as it still spinning some and still hitting sidewall hard... No dragbar, just stock swaybar.. I plan to put a comp universal drag swaybar on maybe this winter.

If you are the guy I am thinking of with the black 97, we used to talk a good bit years ago - did your wife have an A4 stocker that was dipping into 12s? If so I used to have the 87 burgundy firebird also on my youtube page, and brother inlaw had 02 Silver ws6 which is also on there.. Been going there since 1995 or so..
