Talking First time out this year with the W tire...new best on shake down runs

Had to relearn the whole suspension all over again. Didn't even monitor the engine. Tune could've been off for all I know (was running straight 93 octane verses the mix of 100/93 I usually run). Unfortunately the car yanks left still on launch. Tried fixing it but need to get it on some corner scales...

Anyhow.

Here is the splits of my best run

60'-1.433
330-4.311
1/8-6.702
mph-102.89
1000-8.753
1/4-10.488
mph-129.84

DA was -111 ft on that run
Raceweight should be 3350-3375 give or take (I'll know for sure when I corner scale it)

not dialup friendly:

Hey did the 28x10.5's rub before you did any trimming? Not the w's the regular 28x10.5's? I ordered a set of 325/50/15 ET street radials and don't know if they will fit w/o too much hacking. I have already removed those brackets and cut the inner fender like you did but haven't done anything else. The tires are 27.9"tall but won't grow very much b/c of the radial construction but they are 13" wide at the section and have 11" of tread. Do you know the section of the W's? I really don't want to have to cut in the front part of the wheelwell if I don't have to. LMK Later Clint

those dimensions are close to the W's dimensions. there was alot of work we did to the wheelwell for good clearance. we cut and rewelded some sections in there to make room

I had 28x10s a few years ago...they didn't rub

W tires take some cutting and beating but other then that it is no big deal. It is nothing inside the car that you have to worry about. I have W's on mine and I had them on a customer of mine also. Went a 1.27 60ft in his car.

Looking for a 1.25 or lower in mine.

looks like you finally got er goin good there brian, congrats man, i think think you have more left off the line tho. i have 2 questions, do you have adjustable lca's and how is the preload set on your rear sway? with the stocker i was leaving to the right, now with the bmr set neutral, no preload either way, it leaves straight as a arrow every time. what are you launching at and what were your shock settings?
im glad to see those resutls out of your setup, gives me lots of hope, i should be 350lbs lighter than you when i add heads, and im going afr 225's and should be in the 1.38 range off the line. thanks for the results, ive been waiting on them to do a comparison.
can you say 9.99 stock short block n/a
once again, congrats, thats awsome.
btw, time to update the sig

ended up with 2 in the front 5 in the rear. I have even preload on the rear swaybar but I think the rear is loaded kinda wierd...need to get on some corner scales to verify.

what about the lca's, just a thought but after all you mods and adjustments are you 100% sure the rear is pointed dead straight? also, disconect your endlinks and put all the shocks on 0 and see how the car sits

im suck on dialup so i cant see how the launch looks for another 20min of downloading but if you are snatching the wheels and boggin like i was keep cranking the front shocks, my 1.40 launch that left like a **** without bogging was shocks set on 5 all around, any looser in the front it would wheelie and fall on its face. you can tell by listening to my runs how it got better.
just some ideas for you to look at.

thats what I need to do still (try a tighter front)...we squared the rear too. I think its a weight mismatch

Didn't lift a whole lot (1.43)

yea, thats about same height as mine, it wasnt the height that was the problem i found, it was how fast the front unloaded causing it to bog, you notice it usually just jerked them up quick and bogged except on my .43 run it took longer to unload on the front. give it a shot, youll be suppriesed.

ok, i just watched it, it definatly launches hard to the left, hum, didnt bog so that not a problem. you must be running a 2 step eh? and i see you held first a lil to long , whats funny is if i short shift first like 200rpms, it et's better for some reason.
btw, nice shifting man, sounding good.

no...that was a whimpy 5000 rpm launch...no 2 step there... The run after that I tried 2 stepping and it carried the wheels up further with a worse 60' (1.45)

ok, heres a dumb question, y did you wait till the last minute to rev? any chance the sudden rpm jerk one way jerked the other way when you launched may have affected the direction of the front end like that? im just asking, i usually have mine holding where i wanna leave. but if that was only a 5000 or so and your 2 step is carryin allot harder 2 step it again at 6k+ and put the fronts on like 4-5 and watch what happens if the track prep is good.

Put a good swaybar on it and it won't do that anymore.
