Just wondering if there is any solid gains, most say .1 and 1mph, but I want to make sure before I make my car stupid loud.

I have a cammed car with 424 hp so cam car results are more desired hear.

Everytime I have opened my car I gained 1.5-2 mph over my factory slp dual dual exhaust. I gain 17hp / 14tq on the dyno with the cutout open. I cannot tell you how much I gained ET wise because I only have ran street tires and I just spin bad.

I doubt he's even read about it before. Most people don't lose performance with it open.




I gained the same mph. Everytime I ran back to back it was .15 ET and 2mph.

I didn't gain anything from opening my cutout.

My combo is an LS6 cam with un-ported 243s and Mac headers w/magnaflow exhaust.

I don't have any 1/4 times. But I did gain 6hp on the dyno. Installed cutout and dynoed the same day as the base pull.

I saw an lt1 with just a borla catback gain .1 and 1mph with an open cutout on back to back runs. I would imagine the gains would depend on how restrictive your current exhaust setup is.

Definitely. I run a stock exhaust so I'm sure I pick up more than others. I don't see any running slower with it open as long as 60' and other variables are the same.

SilverZ, not picking on you but there are other threads out there if you look around a little. I've seen a bunch of these threads in the past.
