Default Race wiring question...

I have the dash out and am about to start removing wires. In my build thread someone suggested removing all of the wires and then adding back only what was needed. My question is where should I make the cuts to remove the wire?

Will a painless harness control the power windows? How much do they cost?

Looks like the painless harnesses are $500+. Not trying to spend that much money on something I could do myself.

the painless harness is 300 for the universal chassis harness look on other sites where ever your looking marked it up huge you will need a 12 to 16 circuit harness for a late model gm steering colom

The easiest way is to just go to the part you dont need(speaker, dome light, seatbelt sensor) and pull the wire out of the loom until you get to a stopping point like if it Ts into another wire or goes into a connector and cut it there. It gets messy as you have to pull off the electrical tape and its sticky but all in all I pulled about 20 lbs of wiring out of my Formula by removing speakers, radio, dome lights, antenna, alarm, airbags, ect.

take out the body control module itself and take out all the wires..... all you need is a mounting board, solenoids and relays if you want to go that route.

wiring is a pain in the ***... i would got with a nice control panel and swith panel like speedwire or spaghetti menders
