Default Pics of installed rollcages?

People with rollcages (not rollbars), please post your pics. I would like to see how different fitments look, as well as where it goes through the dash.

Thanks, Shawn

Here are a couple.. nothing too particular. We caged another car a couple weeks ago, I'll get some more pics pretty soon. We use all Wolfe cages.. notch ourselves for optimum fit.

as per your PM, my back bars don't go all the way back.. You must have me confusedededed with someone else..

No pictures but I have a quick question. I had a Wolfe 6-point installed by Speed Inc. and it was supposed to be chromoly however, every single racer that has seen and felt it has told me it was steel. I have no idea what to believe, all I know is I paid for a chromoly and I want to know if there is a way I can verify which one it is. How can I tell?

is the bar painted? if not and its mild steel the tubing will have seems..

if its tig welded it could still be either or.. if it's mig welded and its chromoly it's not legal..

if it is painted you can either have it ultrasounded by a nhra cert guy or you can drill and 1/8" hole somewhere not in sight and check the thickness..mildsteel is usually in the .134 range and chromoly is .083..

also, if you grind chromoly the sparks are much smaller and finer than they are when grinding mildsteel..

if it is painted then i don't see how anyone could tell you what type of material it is unless they have x-ray vision

hope this helps.

It was tig welded and it is painted black. I'm glad you said that about the x-ray vision. That means the people who were telling me it is steel are just guessing and in fact, don't know anymore than I do as to what it is made of. My guess is that it is chromoly because that is what I paid for and I doubt anyone could mistakenly put in a steel cage instead of a chromoly. Someday I'll know for sure, when I convert it to a 10 point.

Thanks for the help.

Got any side pics, or pics where it goes through the dash? Looks good from the back.
