Default MWC bumper supports after sag.

Hey guy, I'm thinking about taking out my bumper supports out and would like to know if in a year from now when the bumper starts to sag and I add a MWC bumper support if it'll bring it back up and look stock again? And also does the rear bumper start to sag too? I'm planning on getting the MWC supports eventually but would rather wait and do other things now but still be lighter until then and not ruin my bumpers while I'm waiting.

I've heard from friends without supports that it sags, plus the wind will also push your bumper down/back at highway speeds. Looking behind the bumper almost nothing will support it without something there so this makes sense. Two plans in my mind, 1. buy aftermarket bumper supports, they will be light, cheap, and your bumper will be supported very well. Mine are SOLID. I think Midwest and Burkhart makes some. 2. Cut your stock piece. You could take out 50-75% of the weight with just a grinder then reinstall and support for the cover should remain like stock, crash protection wont obviously.

Yep this is a good mod. Take around 20lbs right off the front of the car and the support for the bumper cover is good. I'd expect the same for the rear bumper but don't have one yet

I have a mwc front support on mine and it saved a ton of weight and fit nice and snug against bumper.

Been wanting to do the rear but heard that it causes the rear bumper to catch more Wind from under the car. 01ssred, have you experienced any of that with yours?

Well I'm not under the car to see Seriously I've heard that as well. I wouldn't think it would be a big issue however I'm not an engineer either.

You will crack the front end paint without any supports (especially with high speed). I am getting my car painted right now to correct the cracks from repeated flexing from not having a bumper support on the front of may car. There will be a slight sag in the rear bumper without a bumper support but it is not too bad. Personally, I would use some sort of support to keep the paint from cracking on the front and rear ( this can also happen if you lean on the car without any supports).

The MWC supports actually contact the fascia to support it. It is the lightest support available and offers over 15 pounds of weight savings on each end.

The rear support will open up the fascia for more air to enter, but if the body is complete stock then a filler made from sheet aluminum could easily be added to seal it off.

Yea that's what I was thinking Eric. I wanted to get your rear support with the parachute mount but it's illegal to drill through our license plates as what I'm told

The MWC parachute mounts are setup to where the mount receiver terminates under the tag, so you can remove the bolted on pack mount and run the plate as normal. Once the plate is on you will never know there is a chute mount in the car.
