Drag Racing on a Plugged Nitto
i got a nail in my brand new nitto 555R last week. We were able to plug it but now i am unsure about drag racing with it. I cant justify spending 125 bux 4 a new one when A) it doesnt even have a 1000 miles on it and B) im off to college on Sept 6. I also dont wanna have the tire blow during a run or something. is it safe to run????

I'd do it but I'd suggest that you don't (I seem to have a death wish.)

Re: Drag Racing on a Plugged Nitto
At the last NMRA race (Maple Grove), I ran over a nail between rounds, and HAD to put a plug in my BFG DR's. Still there - still racing - still doing slick-type burnouts. Might not be the smartest thing in the world, but I'm doing it.

I still raced on a patched hoosier, guy dose all my tires is a big time drag racer. but then again if you want him to plug a tire he'll tell you to go to wal-mart.
I'd suggest getting it patched and you'll be fine.

Re: Drag Racing on a Plugged Nitto
I had to patch one of my nittos after a couple hundred miles. LOL...I was a neverous nelly on my first pass after the patch job. I was worried that an 18 psi burnout would be a problem, but a good 60' erased my concerns. I got many more passes and 8000 miles from that tire.
