!Cruise Control???
Anyone know how much weight removing cruise control saves? I'm doing the weight reduction thing now and I heard that it sits under the drivers headlight and weighs 20-30lbs? Can anyone help me out? Thanks. ~Tony

Re: !Cruise Control???
I just took my cruise off last night and weighed it today. It is located on the pass. side on the top front of the wheel well.
The cruise including the 2 cables weigh in at a whopping 3 lbs. Add a couple ounces for the bolts. Then deduct a few ounces for the new non cruise throttle cable that needs installed.
I also weighed the hood latch. 1 lb. 6 oz. plus the 2 bolts add an ounce or so.
I lost approximately 4.5 lbs today. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Maybe it is different on a TCS/non-TCS car. I do not have TCS, BTW.

Another cable came out of the cruise module and connects to the throttle bracket.
I ASSUMED I would need a new cable and ordered one for a non cruise car. After I bought the new cable I looked at the original cable and wondered if it would have worked if I took it out of the module.? Is that what you did?
I weighed mine on a postal digital scale. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> HMM
I wonder if they are different? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I did have TCS

Re: !Cruise Control???
I 'believe' non-TCS cars have it in front of the drivers side wheel below the headlight... Or at least if it isn't, what is that box in there on non-TCS cars?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: !Cruise Control???
all 98 and up f-bodies have the cruise module under the drivers side headlamp. but on the tcs cars, the cable runs to the tcs module on the inner fender, instead of the tb like the non tcs cars.
