Eye Candy: APE's 4th Gen Camaro Drag Car, Chassis Pic's
Here are some pic's of the car from start to finish. These are all chassis pic's, showing the work that has been done to our 1999 Camaro SS convertible. All chassis work was performed by KTS race cars, 586-468-4494, or www.ktsracing.com. KTS specializes in 4th gen F-body's, anything from mild to wild. They do some of the best work I have ever seen, if you guy's are in need of chassis work KTS is who you need to call. This car was built by them in less than 4 month's that alone was pretty impressive. When we started this project the car was a street car with a 422, hyd roller set up. That just wasn't fast enuff so we stepped up the program a little bit and went full throttle to where we are today. As you can see the car has come a long way from stock and I am pretty much sure that it won't be put back to origional anytime soon.
The car is set up for 25.5 cert and has been mini tubbed to fit the size tire we are running (29.5 x 10.5W x 15 hoosier). It has a custom KTS/APE torque arm in it and also KTS/APE lower control arms. Still using factory mounting points. The rear end was also built by KTS using Moser parts, 3.90:1 pro gear with spool, gun drilled & star flanged axles. Car also has a KTS antiroll bar on it and AFCO shocks on all four corners. Wilwood brakes out back and Mark Williams brakes up front with modified stock spindles by KTS. If anyone has any questions on our car please feel free to give us a call.
Thanks,

The convertible was just something we had. The current record is held by a convertible so I'm sure that inspired us in some way.
Chris also owned a solid roof 00 SS roller for a short while, but in the end the convertible is where we ended up. Its getting very close now, we are all getting anxious to see what she'll lay down. Procharger and everyone else we talk to has their ideas, but until it runs the number we aren't celebrating. Now afterwards is another story!!
