Default 60' got worse with Adj Torque Arm, What gives?

I went from consistant 1.7's 1.75-1.77 even a 1.70 at best to 1.8-1.9's best 1.79. (Nitto, Dr's)

I thought an adjustable torque arm was supposed to help?? T-A is set at -1.5 to -2

Maybe the stock T-A flexed enough not to break the tires loose??

Can anyone shead some light on improving my 60', other wise i might just put the stocker back on.

How did you measure your pinion angle? I found using the flat base on the bottom of the pumpkin was innacurate and was not level with the pinion. I had to use the pinion itself as the exact reference.

Stock torque arm flex could have helped reduce the shock on the tires.

Ok, so if you know what your pinion angle is going off the pinion and you know what the bottom of the pumpkin is, then you could tell me those two numbers and i could figure out what my pinion angle is with out much work. By adding the difference you came up with to my measurement from the bottom of the rear end.

What were your numbers?? maybe my pinion angle is not what i think it is.

I have a strange 12 bolt.. so my measurements were off. I found by using the flat area on the bottom of my pumpkin actually put me about -2 more than I had thought I was.

I disagree with the extra negative pinion angle for maximum traction.

It could be that your new torque arm is more firm like you mentioned and is hitting the tires harder. What torque arm did you go with?

Bmr adjustable

So should i put the pinion angle at -2 or closer to -3. I read about stock bushings giving more so some guys ran clsoer to -3,-4 and guys with some poly bushings running -2, spherical runs -1 or 0.

Same here, just got mine on last night and now it feels like the power is back there, but it just spins. I guess I just could enter burnout contests from now on.... Next weekend I should get some track time.

I had the DS off and was measuring it at the pinion, but then I read the instructions and it said to do it on the bottom of the pumkin. I set mine at -2 also.

My angle finder that came with the TQ was off 2 deg also, lucky I had a backup.

I guess the stock T-A gives out of the hole and doesn't spin the tires as bad as a non give stiff bmr t-a.

I am taking the stock T-A with my on my 10 hour drive to a good drag strip. I can't afford to leave it at home while my car pulls +1.8 60's. So if i can't hook at a good track and pull 1.7's then I'll put the stock one back on.I know i can get 1.7's on a stlick track with the stocker. It just bits me that i spent +$240.00 for some sys. that didn't help out the 60'.

Does anyone have any proven improvements with an adjustable t-a?
