Default Coolant overflow tank replacement?

I'm goint to get rid of the factory tank. Looking at the Summit web site I see there are tanks that have a recirculation feature. Is this needed or can I just run a cheap Summit 1.5 quart tank?

Thanks for any help.

I have the Aerospace can on my LT1 car I never had any problems with it. I bought the Aerospace can because it was one of the only cans that was recirculating.

Doubt it - that looks nice. Right where I was thinking about putting one too.

How much volume does that hold? It is slightly hard to tell - I am guessing a quart or so? I am assuming you found that to be ample.

Is there just that one hose and that is it?

doubt it.. that cell there, does it have a fitting on the bottom that gets attached to the radiator ( clear hose on your car ) and the line that appears to be coming off the top, that is the overflow for the small tank I assume? If so lemme know.. I'd like to do that as well. What did it save weight wise too?

I'm having problems with my overflow tank.. I believe it is a Jaz tank, but I am not sure. It feeds in on the top and has a open/close valve on the bottom to drain it. There is a small seep hole in the top of the tank and it keeps filling up and spitting water everywhere. I can't figure out what the hell to do about it, but I don't need that happening running 140mph in the 1/4... It seems like its filling up quickly, but not going back into the radiator. Do you have to put another hose on the bottom of it where the valve is and feed is back to the radiator somehow???

If I fill the radiator when it gets warm some comes out. I just leave the coolant at that level because if you fill it again it will just come out again.

As far as I know you need to hook the line up to the bottom, and leave the top line as the overflow line.. this way the coolant will suck back into the radiator as it cools... and the line coming out the top should be routed to the back of the car behind the rear tires so if it does ever overflow while going down the track it won't hit the tires.... that is what I was told. I wish doubt it would come back in, it kinda looks like that is how he has his hooked up.

You are on the right track JL. I only mount my overflow bottles in the rear of the car. I dont mount them in the engine compartment.
