Default What stall w/th400

I need the right converter for my application. 3100lb f-body w/th400 and a 402 with a 150-200 shot of spray. Race application only. I've been told from 5000-5600 8" converter to a 3400-4000 9.5 converter. These are opinions from transmission shops that I've talked to. What do I really need?

Call one of the manufacturer's and give them all the specs on your car (motor, tranny, rear gear, tire height, etc.) and they will be able to get you the correct stall speed for your application

no such thing as teh perfect converter for all applications. imo most higher reving ls1's shifting at 7K want a big converter. something that flashes at 5000 real life for peak performance. now how you get there....thats up to the converter manufacturer!

For a motor car a 8in...N20 or blower 9in. I would only use http://www.ultimateconverter.com/ for whatever you do. Lenny is the man.

Get an A1 Converter if you have the money. If you can engine dyno the car you're pretty much set, if not give them all your specs and tell them what you want.

Got a good deal on it and for a 8in the price was right. But my 9in N20 UCC converter is more efficient.
