Default Edelbrock 1 7/8 Stepped Headers

I am upgrading my whole Exhaust System on my Formula. I am going from 1 3/4 Hooker Headers to the Edelbrock stepped Headers.

My question is how is the quailty of these headers & fit & finish. Has anybody had experience with these headers?

Also I am going from a TSP 3inch True Dual System to a 3 1/2 inch True Dual System

I have a stock 346 shortblock with 5.3 TEA 1.5 Heads & do I stand to loose or gain any power?

I also bought a set......ti-tec finish is a joke. They seem to be made well otherwise. After final install and after the exhaust is on I'm gonna have all of it HPC coated. Anyone need a y-pipe for a set of these?

What is a joke about it? Id like to hear what issues you've had with it. OUt of about a dozen sets or so, i've not one problem with it peeling or rusting off.

I wish I could have seen a set in person before I ordered them, I would have sprung for the SS w/o a doubt. There is no coating at all on the inside and this Ti-tech finish scratches just as easy as spray paint. Oh and another thing...Why in world did they go to a 3.5" "scavenger" collector only to neck it back down again to 3" using their y-pipe?? All in all a good product for the $$$, I just would have made better decisions had I had this info available to me at the time I bought them.

I had two sets on my 00 Z28. On first set, I had the Ti-Tech coating rust in about three weeks. I was told it was due to a bad batch. The second set I had (warranty replacements) had the coating again, and the coating lasted longer. Only problem I had with them other than the coating, was dropping the trans with the headers still bolted up. It is a VERY tight fit due to the enlarged primaries. The power was there just like any other header. They were on the car when I went 10.85, cam only, on drag radials.

I would say get them, but don't go with 3.5" true duals. That is too much for a 346 motor. I would keep your 3" true duals. They are more than enough for your setup.

The only issues I had with them were the slip-on collectors leaked some and they hang a little lower than my Hooker's did. I had really good results from them and the fitment was great other than the low clearance. I just smashed the primaries/collectors thanks to Austin's wonderfull road construction. I'm thinking about buying the SS ones this time.
