Fire jacket
Can any of you all give me a clarification on what jacket SFI spec I need? I found this online for the NHRA specs for 9.99 and faster:
With OEM or steel firewall: jacket and pants meeting SFI 3.2A/5
spec and gloves meeting SFI 3.3/1 spec mandatory.
Without an OEM or steel firewall, with nitrous oxide, supercharged,
or turbocharged, or any car with an automatic transmission in the
driver’s compartment: Jacket and pants meeting SFI 3.2A/15 spec,
gloves and shoes or boots meeting SFI 3.3/5 spec mandatory.
I am running a turbo. I was confused on if the second part ment:
w/o a steel firewall and with a turbo
or
without a steel firewall or with a turbo.
Thanks.

I believe its w/o a steel firewall and a turbo
edit: I think this is where you fall
Front Engine Blown or Closed Bodied w/o OEM or steel firewall 9.99 to 7.50
here is what is different if thats right
protective clothing: SFI 3.2A/15 including pants
gloves: SFI 3.3/5
shoes: SFI 3.3/5
Blown pertains to roots type, centrifugal and turbochargers
these rules are from 2004 I don't know if they a have changed or not since then

So since i'm not running alcohol, the last paragraph does not apply correct? So for 9.99 and faster w/ a turbo it would be 3.2A/5 on the jacket and pants if i'm reading it right?

You need 3.3/1 gloves also.
