Default does my exhaust flow too well?

i have a 224 cam and flp headers and offroad pipe turndowns. will this flow "too well" ? i run a cutout usually, and i ET the same (mph better) with the cutout open than going through the muffler. i dont think itd be any different than runing dual cutouts...id like to hear what some people say.

I don't believe there is any such thing as flowing "too well" after the headers.

well i know this dosnt concern you but i think for turbo cars you dont want a high flowing exhaust you would want somthing that creates a acceptble amount of backpressure. although i may be wrong. flowing to well i dont think would be a problem

Flowing to well can cause the exhaust to cool down to fast which inturn takes more power to push the exhaust out. Hotter gas flow better than cooler gas, so keeping the exhaust the perfect temp will allow you to get the best flow. I think horse power tv did a show on this so you may be able to look it up at their web site.

As long as you have your car tuned to what the Exhaust setup is, you can never flow too well. Atap it with the dumps and see what it's doing. I have 3" true duals, X-pipe, 4" bullet mufflers. Flows VERY WELL. I think that plays a big part in my high traps.

You just said you mph better, that indicates more power with cutout open. Perhaps just never got the extra 10 hp or so down to the ground....

Some engines will not run as well with too little back pressure. The SOHC 4.6 is an example of this, I have actually seen a full bolt on SOHC 4.6 loose torque with the addition of LT's . In the case of the LS-1 the better it flows the faster you will go. And for Turbo cars you want the best flowing exhaust you can possibly get.
