what to expect from my new TH400
I just ordered my new TH400 (reverse manual valvebody with a trans brake) from rossler. I have a 3800 stall converter coming as well along with a yank crossmember the retains the locations of my bmr torque arm. My motor made 407 rwhp with the 6 speed....
My question is- what kind of quarter mile times do you think i might see with the new trans and a 27 inch tall hoosier quick time pro? The car is close to stock weight.
What should my expectations be with my 100 shot???
I'm just getting my drivetrain ready for the 427 (still wating on sleeves from darton). Broke the 6 speed whooping up on some blue ovals last week
Thanks,
Conrad

You will lose about 30rwhp...
I made 370rwhp and 455rwtq, through my TH400 w/3500 P.i. setup, unlocked, 3.73's in a 12-bolt, MTI heads/X1 cam...

Re: what to expect from my new TH400
Hey Doc, my Madman setup was $2580 shipped to Nebraska. That includes: tranny, stall, dipstick, driveshaft, mount, cooler & lines.
You will need: Flexplate, tranny temp gauge, shifter,ARP bolts,1 case of tranny fluid, and a fan if you want to locate cooler in place other then the front of radiator.
I have about $3500 total investment due to Cheetah Shifter, Autometer gauge, B&M Trick Shift and a brand new flexplate. Why not buy the best if your gonna go big.
You will lose some horsepower thru the big tranny, but the transbrake will make up for it, as well as the big stall. My buddy Jeff went 1.37 60ft time with his on a Strange rearend, with a wolf racecraft sway bar. The TH400 is KING in my book.

Re: what to expect from my new TH400
"With the 4.10 gears, expect no highway driving."
I totally disagree. Sure, if you like to run 70 mph on the highway you will have a problem, but I've talked to several people and they all turn about 2800 rpm at 60 mph. Keep in mind that this is on a tall slick race tire. I will be upgrading to a 28 inch tall tire soon anyway-this will help even more.
Once I build the 427, i will probably be going with a 3.73 gear for nitrous use.
Any guestimation on quarter mile et's???

Re: what to expect from my new TH400
With my 346 heads/cam setup I went 11.6@118 w/a full race weight...well over 3600lbs...
I am running a 3.73 gear...on the highway w/27" hoosiers...3000-3200 rpms at 60mph...
After my new motor, w/the boost I'm going to be seeing, my car will never see highway again...

Brad call up Speed, they got me a custom one made, I think it was $375, hasn't showed any signs of failure yet....
