Long Distance Driving on Skinnies??

Long Distance Driving on Skinnies??
I've heard a of a few people saying that they have road tripped their cars on 15X3.5 front rims. I have prostars on my car currently and am wondering about the feasibility of taking an all highway 750 mile round trip ride when the car gets back together..any thoughts/suggestions on this?
I remember some people saying the drove from texas to bowling green with skinnies up front. I have the metrich monarch radials on the rims, so its a full normal street radial.
Whatcha think? Should I be concerned?

I try to limit myself to ~100 miles one way with the skinneys but thats mostly because when they are on the ET streets are on the back. I am usually pretty lazy and hate to swap wheels and tires at the track - not to mention getting the tires swiped at the track (its a shame but its happened to a few people lately). I have driven to steele (200 miles one way) on skinneys, they really limit your handling and braking though, most important thing is to remember they are there and drive with a little more concentration. /old man mode on: Considering the tires are near their max load and the wheels are not recommended for street use I would hate to be on the wrong end of a lawsuit if something bad happened /old man mode off. Also checking the torque on the lugs once in a while is a good idea..

Silvernerd, Matt98SS and I drove on skinnies from Chicago to Bristol TN in 2000 for that GMHTP shoutout. That was like 12 or 15 hours one way I can't remember.
I'd just make sure the tires look good and that that you have them properly inflated. I ran the 165's that were rated for 44psi and some real weight.

165 radials will be fine for highway driviing, just remember that your ABS won't work with skinnies on. Also the decreased width of the tire will cause them to break loose quicker in a panic stop. Just drive conservatively and you should be okay!

Sean,
Within the past 10 months, I've driven to Michigan, NJ, and Louisiana and back on skinnies...you'll be fine.

Skinnies don't cause the abs not to work, that's because of having a taller tire on the back far as I know..always been fine if I didn't have the 28's on the back..
The car is not my daily driver so its the only rims and tires I have for it..going back to a 6 speed so that's why I'm wondering about long distance trips, it will have a drag radial on the back, so shouldn't be a problem it sounds like.
Thanks guys!
