Default **UPDATE ** w/ Dyno Graph/Video - 08 C6 Z06 on E85 - Mild Mods - 485rwhp/435 ft lb

So after base lining the car with some issues (basically fell on its face at 5200 rpms four pulls in a row and peaked at 413 rwhp/403 ft lb) I installed the Vararam CAI (super PITA btw), NGK TR6IX plugs, Granatelli Motorsports spark plug wires, Lingenfelter 160 thermostat and some fresh Dex-Cool, water and a bottle of Water Wetter. Came back and first baseline pull was roughly 474rwhp and 413 ft lb but coolant temps dropped from 200 to 185 cruising so I believe this was what was causing some issues (end of runs prior were 210+ and it was pulling timing). Getting some false knock as well.

I then swapped to E85 from the pump. Did one baseline pull. Running rich, stock timing, stock GM flex fuel tables and maxxing out the injector at 125% duty cycle at 4900 rpm the car laid down 485rwhp/435 ft lb. peak gains were nearly 11rwhp and 22 ft lb but at various points we saw gains of nearly 20rwhp and 25 ft lb!!!

Long story short bigger injectors are needed but some solid power can be gained. Going to be buying some ID850s or Siemens 60s and retuning next Saturday. Goal is to make over 500rwhp with stock heads/cam/intake/exhaust.

Run 1: Temp 84.3 F, 44% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/2/13 - Baseline
Run 2: Temp 84.6 F, 43% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/2/13 - Baseline
Run 3: Temp 84.9 F, 43% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/2/13 - Baseline
Run 4: Temp 86.0 F, 43% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/2/13 - Baseline
Run 5: Temp 82.1 F, 42% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/3/13 - Baseline w/ Mods
Run 6: Temp 83.4 F, 41% Humidity, 700 FT DA, 8/3/13 - Baseline on E85

All runs are SAE Corrected w/ 5 smoothing

Notes: Run #2 had a spike in the torque numbers. Run #5 also had a little bit of wheel spin.

Awesome numbers man, Im sure youll hit your numbers when you get your fuel sorted out.
Im looking to find a stock C6Z in the near future. Planning on worked heads, and full boltons.
See how far i can get on stock cam and drivability.

Nice numbers! Cant wait to see it with injectors! Do you know what your AFR and timing was on your WOT E85 pulls? Thanks in advance.

Thanks man and thanks for your question!

I know I was at the stock timing which I believe is 24*. I think on E85 I can push it to 26 maybe 28 but I'm not 100% certain on that and ill leave it to John and Kevin to see what makes the most power safely. As far as the AFR I may be confusing the stoich vs the true afr but from my recollection 9.76 is the best and I was around 10.13. Their dyno was calibrated for gas AFRs so the graphs and runs weren't reading the true numbers like the laptop/program he was using. When I retune I will confirm all of these numbers for you but it may take a couple of weeks. About to order ID850s, adapters and Aeromotive fuel rails along with a set of ARH 2" headers with catless X-Pipe.

Yeah you would definitely be able to push the timing up, especially if you were running the stock GM timing from the factory. I understand what you are talking about with the gasoline AFRs. I am subscribed for results!

Thanks for the kind posts!

Ordered everything Wednesday. Fuel stuff arrives next Wednesday. Headers I'm hoping for by next Saturday but I doubt it.

I'd like to see 525rwhp with the E85/tune/headers/catless X pipe. Realistically I'd say 515rwhp. We'll see in a week or two!
