I was suprized by the dyno numbers & so were the guys @ GMMG. Not bad for a weekend project. The car was bone stock on friday & by monday morning it was done. The hardest part was putting on those SLP headers. What a pain in the ***! The only thing we didn't install were the Patriot shaft mount rocker arms. The shaft that the rocker arms attach to cracked while instaling it. So we ended up using the factory rockers instead.

Those are nice #'s. I dont know the rest of the combo but I have 420 hp/405 tq and with the 4.30 gears I love it. If you dont have a atleast 4.10 gears Then you have not felt the power yet

Sweet numbers from that setup! Especially the torque. Have a graph handy? I would like to see power under the curve.

Yes there is a graph, I wish that I had a copy of it though. I'll pm my friend & tell him to post the graph. God he is so lazy, he's on LS1 tech all the time. I even told him that I posted this thread about his car & he still hasent even looked at the damn thing.
You think he would at least post a reply. I know he has nothing to do.

If your reading this & your a tech memb. pm his lazy *** & tell him to post his graph.
His tech name is CATCH ME

Are these real LS6 heads or the LS6 "style" heads?

The heads were LS6 style heads. So, it's basically a LS1 head with an LS6 grind in it. There was no drop in compression after heads were put on. Therefore, they are definitely not real LS6 heads. If they were I know we would have seen a good drop in compression. But even though their not LS6 heads they produce a good amount of power.

you are confused, you have ls6 style heads not an ls1 head. the ls6 style heads are based on the 6.0 trucks which share the same port design (intake and exhaust) and dual quench pad chambers. the chambers are welded to 59, 64, or stock 72cc. depending on which chamber size you chose you either raised or lowered your compresssion.

But his compression ratio was 10.5:1, just like the LS1 heads on a Corvette. I was under the impression that LS6 heads lowers the compression by 1.0 & that the 6.0L LQ9 heads brought compression down by 0.5? WTF!
JRP, is any of this right?

That's one badass power curve you have there! I'm jealous. Almost 375rwtq at 3K rpms and it stays nice and broad and keeps on climbing. Your car should fly at the track!

JRP, is any of this right?

A LS1 powered corvette has a 67cc chamber which yields 10.1-1 compression just like a F-body. A LS6 corvette has a 64cc chamber yielding 10.5-1 compression. So when you use a 64cc LS6 style head on a stock LS1 bottom end, you end up with approx. 10.5-1.
