dyno info for g1
#2
My car made 379hp and 373ftlbs. Its going threw a TCI street fighter and 3.42's, 5.3 ported heads by loyed elliet with 2.02 and 1.60, ls6 intake, t-body bypass, hooker longtubes, lanes true duals. I still need to get a t-body, smooth bellow, and a underdrive pulley.I was hoping to get close to 400 at the wheels but maybe the t-body, pulley and bellow get me closer.

Wow, I'm kind of bummed with those numbers...please dont' take offense, because I have the same Cam! I bought it back in friggin november when it first came out because the specs sounded awesome, and I finally started installing it last night.

I saw an 01 SS at MTI awhile back getting dyno tuned and it was a full bolt on car and STOCK heads with the G1 and did 403rwhp (dont remember the TQ) with the converter locked, the converter was a Yank 3500. How ever, locked numbers dont mean much since your converter isnt locked while racing...

What are the specs on this cam?

im curious about the G1 too, i picked up a set of MTI stg 2r's from TXCAMSS on the board and he highly recommend the G1, in an auto he broke just into the 10's on the motor...MTI recommend i use the G1 but on a 115lsa

i was debating between the g1 and c2 cam. either of those with mti stage 2e heads. ive seen a 01 t/a A4 with a g5 cam and basic bolt ons put down 385 rwhp. and the g1 cam is alot bigger so i would be hoping it would be at like 390rwhp. then the heads.

With your M6 man you should be right on top of the 440 rwhp mark. I put down 408 with the C1 and those heads. I know I picked up another 10 easy with the G1 swap, but I never got to dyno the car. That was through a power robbing PT4200. Depending on your headers and rear exhaust, you should be very pleased. Good luck to you and keep us updated!!

Man , My set up rocks. I couldn't be happier. We finally managed to get the car to hook and go straight. It's on now. The FAST 90/90 will be the next step.
BTW- Do Not install the TR236 with the Stage2R heads. The P to V clearance is not going to let it work without destroying something. Be sure to check P to V clearance regardless of which cam you go with. It's just real good insurance. The G1 on a 115 should work great. The LSA plays a big role in how much cam you can get away with.
Good luck!

I was also alittle bummed with those numbers, but maybe I was just expecting to much. I had my car tuned at MTI.

My 10.91 60ft was a 1.44 @ 122.9. The air was awesome that night at -1500 DA. That was also with the ST3500 and the C1 cam.
I ran several 10.96s with the G1 at 121.8 with 1.49 60fts in a little better than average air. I never really got to tweak on the car with the G1 in. I only made it to the track once and then went to an entirely new Higher HP set up. I could have gotten more out of the G1. I just needed some more time to tweak, great track prep and real good air to compare the differences. The rear end probably would have been tested pretty good with that set up in good air.
I hope this helps. Don't worry about dyno numbers. Take it to the track. Good luck!
