Default g5x1 dyno results 3-24-05 ap engineering

finally got it tuned today.g5x1 absolutespeed stage 2.5 5.3s with everything in sig. tuned by kurt at ap engineering. he did an awsume job very quickly, also he fixed my asr cables so i had wot.i got 370 hp 328tq on a mustang dyno.
i figure 12% diff in dynojet numbers would have given me 414hp 367tq
this was with converter unlocked.might have got 10 more locked ? he got me a perfect 12.6 across the board
it peaked hp at 6400 and lost only 3hp to 6700rpm tq peaked at 5500rpm and is flat and broad extremely happy with the results and the driveability is as good as stock.ill post the graph up tommorrow after i hook up my scanner and find the software for it.so to anyone in mi or where ever if your lookin for a good tune go see ap engineering in clinton twshp ,mi

Nice numbers, I made 382/346 with a tsp 232/228 and PP s2 5.3L heads on that same dyno.
I now have a new un-tuned cam and I have an APE motor being built

Nice #'s again.

Good #'s man. I saw a 2002 vette there last year, when I dyno'd, with a heads/cam/convertor and he put down 38x/35x. So, your #'s are right there.

How do you like your stall? I have a Yank going in in a couple weeks.

Very good numbers...I put down 366 rwhp on their dyno before the G5x3 was installed...I've done the tuning myself, so don't know for sure what I've got now...But it feels like I am making a whole lot more rwhp than I was...

Peace...Gman

DAMN THATS GOOD NUMBERS FOR JUST HEADERS.HOWS THAT G5X3 DID U HAVE TO FLY CUT THE PISTONS FOR THAT? IT MUST BE HARD AS HELL TO GET ANY TRACTION WITH THAT 6-SPEED AND YOUR SET-UP. I KNOW ITS HARD ENOUGH FOR ME AND I HAVE AN AUTO I CAN ROAST EM ROLLIN AT 30 AND IT WILL GET 2ND PRETTY GOOD.ID LIKE TO SEE YOUR TRACK TIMES WITH SOME SLICKS.YOU SHOULD CUT REALLLLLY LOW 11S OR MAYBE EVEN A 10 WOULD BE MY GUESS.

Good numbers for your setup. Especially with that relatively small cam in the now "mondo" cam world. I put down 401 hp and 378 tq on there dyno with my setup. Kurt definately knows his tuning....

bad0211secws6...Ya, the LS6 was strong even before the headers 348 rwhp on their dyno, 366 with the headers, hi-flow cats and stock Z06 exhaust...It ran 12.37 @ 117 mph at Lapeer last summer with a 2.3 60'...No traction at all...

Now it's even worse...Anything over 40 mph in 2nd and I can spin the rears over pretty easy...

The G5X3 on 114 LSA required no fly cutter or any other mods to the engine...I did add the Roller Rockers myself after the cam install...Those felt like they perked the engine up even more, they were the accelerated lift style...

I've get the rev limiter set for 6800 rpms and it pulls like a mother right up to it...

Peace...Gman

yeah let me know next time your at lapeer id like to hear what that g5x3 sounds like in person i might end up puttin one in this winter or a fm13 id like to see some more torque it feels like it has tons of torques but the dyno was low on the torque side imo?

thats a lot of duration on your set-up i might step-up to a fm13 later but i think if i went with duration like yours with my 346 i wouldnt take much advantage with it.but if i end up with a ape 408 ill definitely have to go bigger.i was worried about the driveability with the g5x1 but it turned out better than expected you would never know i even had a cam with my stock catback goin 60mph.but you can definitly tell at wot or idling.now i think i can go a little bigger though and maybe bring my torques up with a fm13?

The duration of the cam actually is not all that large. I can drive at 60 mph in 6th gear with 3.42's in the rear end. I am thinking about stepping it up to something in the low 250 range with a tighter lsa(112 ish). I think my cam would not be that bad in a 346 with a tighter lsa. If you are worried about peak torque even a 110 lsa would work. Gas mileage might go down the tube quite a bit though.

An APE 408 would definately help alot of things...more torque, horsepower, and smiles. I am probably buying the crank to get mine stroked out next summer or next winter.
