watch the low carbs this early out...i suggest 2-3 low days then a high spike then back to low...just monitor it closely. If you start getting stringy or weak you need to readjust

Hey guys, dont mean to jump in but how do you guys get into the body building shows? I have been lifting since I started college when i was 18, and im 24 now so ive been lifting for over 6 years and was considering getting into body building in my spare time. Im 6'8 around 245-250 pounds, what usually are the heights and weights of the competitors? Any info would be great!

At 6'8 you would need to be 300 or so at 4-5% to be competive in the super heavys..Im 5'9 215-220 on stage in the heavyweights. You have a sever disadvantage at your height. I get to 26-270 in the offseason wtih visble abs still. You wuold really have to get enourmous to do damage. Not saying it cant be done but its harder for the taller folks. Even im considered tall in BB'ing. Look up noah steere to get an idea of someone over 6'5 thats national level competive.

My dad was big into body building in the 80's. He won the Mr. Mass and Mr Baystate (over 35) in 1985 i think. We used to have very large men at the house while i was groing up so i thought having 20" biceps was the norm. lol. He actually used to host bb contests at my high school. If i remember right, it was the "Mr. Eastern States". Can't remember exactly, it was like 10 years ago, but, it was an "all natural show". just a polygraph test. dudes were still friggin huge for being supposedly all natural.
any of you guys remember Matt Dufresne(sp). Mr America from 1989? I was at that show in Worcester.

The thing about Mr. America is different federations have there own Mr. America, so you could have 2 or 3 Nabba, AAU, IFBB Mr. America's for the said year.Thats what I heard anyways.
Its not like Ms. America being the only one.

Just do a couple of cycles and you'll be all set J/K. When this guy I work with brings in his muscle and fitness mags and you see the guys like ron coleman and stuff like that in there I mean come on you can't be serious that these guys do all this by taking supplements and eating right and working out like 24/7. The guy I work with also juices and he's a big guy all cut up and stuff. Mike you must know some people in the shows do it....i'm not saying you do because I remember your face when I said it at Don's and you didn't look too happy.

I must have been joking..I compete with juice heads... You cant get 210-220 an ripped without some help. Well you can but you wont look great...natural shows today basically mean they do less then pros or npc people. Like i tell everyone else, if you think its all juice, then by all means take some and get on stage with me.

Good luck in your first show Krazy98Z28. I have been competing since 1997 in the NPC shows here in NYC. I am training now to compete in the Eastern Classics which is in November. I such as Mike (PurEvyl) give myself plenty of time to get ready for a contest. Right now I am about 280lb at 6'0" even. I plan on stepping on stage at the top of the heavy's at 220-224, that's the plan.
