Need everyones input on my next car purchase.
I've been going through this in my mind for awhile and I just figured I would get some opinions from as many people as possible. Try not to be a ford or chevy guy in you opinion.
I'm going to be looking at a few different brands and types of cars soon.
I've got two kids in car seats to worry about too.
I want it to be fast but not over the top undependable. Will be my one and only means of getting to work.
Here are my options
Keep my current firebird and do heads cam and have a mild setup for the daily sinking 5k in it and take my camaro sink 15k into it to get it in the 8's twin turbo . 20k-25k total. I've built many and know them like the back of my hand. But I've grown a little tired of them after all these years.
Buy a 2008 z06. Bolt ons, spray, wheels. Take out pass seat and make rack for two child seats to fit. I know I know. 20k down and another 5k into car. I've owned one before along with a bunch of c-5's so I can build or fix it no problem. Awesome car, super car level performance.
2009 Ctsv. Ultamate luxury car, 4 doors, 20k down and 5k in mods. Have a quick daily and super nice all around car. Can work on the engine but don't know anything else about the car. Never drivin one. Have the ultimate daily.
2011-2012 New Ford Cobra gt500. Ive never owned a new car for myself. Nice car. Fairly quick. 20k down 5k in bolt ons. Never been in one, never worked on mod motor and flying blind.
All these cars are in the same price range 40-50k. I would spend the same amount of money on everything. Including keeping what I have and paying them off. Only diff is I wouldn't have a payment. But I've grown tired of working on **** and having an 8sec car is cool but I've been there and it's not that fun constantly working on it.
Thanks for any input.

id get the ctsv sedan or wagon. both are amazing cars. very reliable. factory warranty. and sick fast with simple bolt ons.
gt500 is an awesome car just a a pain getting in and out of the back seat. its really cramped back there.
corvette ia great too juat not practical as a family vehicle.
my vote goes to ctsv. unmatched luxury. insane handling and performance. and not to shabby on gas.

i raced one around a track for a few laps stock. also got a ride in with with just a pulley. it was insane.
then heard one with american racing headers, corsa exhaust and lingenfelter pulley. car sounded like it should. if i could afford one that would be the car for me.

I also vote CTSV.
But I gotta ask. Did you really state above Z06 with passenger delete for your kids car seats? Gotta say just thinking that way is a dick move! I've got 2 kids and that makes me think of the foreigners driving around with 8 kids in no seat belts at all. Sorry if over the top, but it just infuriated me.

Another fun and VERY nimble car is the Lexus ISF; it has a v8 (5.0) power plant that produces 420hp. Fun car to drive! On the lines of the M3 and the like. The older M6 (2008) is getting reasonable in price too; they have a v10 that puts out 500hp and weights a little more than the 4th gens and less than the 5th and new Mustangs.
Oh... and it has an 8 speed

I don't think I would actually put the two seats in the vette but in a pinch if I had no other choice I might. I've fabbed many things and safety would be number one if I did make a rack for both seats.
Unfortunatly if I bought another C6 Z06 it only has one spot and I have two kids 2yrs and 10 months. Btw I had my oldest in the seat of a pickup for a short time and he was way more behaved bring able to look out the windows and see what's going on. Kids don't like the back seat even with the DVD players in my wifes Malibu.

I agree that the Ctsv is on paper the best choice.
BUT I've always had sports cars and actually get kind of depressed if I don't drive a car that I really love. I don't know how I would adjust to a 4 door car.
Also the Gt500 will be new. Which I've never owned a new car before in my life besides all of wifes cars which don't count. You get way better interest rates on a new car loan also. But it's a ford and I've owned many mustangs in the past and could barely stand them with the crap fit and finish of the interiors.

Well yes I understand BUT. I'm going to put 20k down no matter what and then I will only have around 5k for mods to whatever I buy.
It just scares me to get out of my sports cars and be stuck with a 4 door that I'm not used to.
I'm selling all my cars and trading in my 2002 formula. I'm at that point where I need one really nice car instead of spreading myself on three.

I'd go for the CTSV if I had the cash to throw down on one. Nice car all around and fast.
Whoever was saying the GT500 was heavy, the older ones were but ford put an aluminum block in the newer ones so they're lighter.
