Default Central FL Be On The Look Out

Yesterday, my roommate had his '02 Z28 stolen out of the parking lot of his work. He, as well as I, work at the Publix on the corner of Dean and University Blvd. He parked around 3 p.m. Then at 7p.m. he came back from break with a friend to notice another car parkend in his spot. That person who works at the Taco Bell said they got to work at 5 p.m. So, between the hours of 3-5 in broad daylight his car was stolen. We park in the same spots every day so I'm sure it could have been either one of us. He has LoJack on his car so hopefully they can find it. Also, another girl who works with us said she thought she saw it going down Mchulloch Rd about 4 p.m.
If anyone has seen a NBM LS1 Z28 with chrome snowflakes, and custom badges that look like Z06 badges that say Z28 ???HP. Please let the Orange County or Seminole County Sheriff's Dept. know.
Also, I don't know if it is a trend or something, but keep an eye on your cars because someone wanted his awfully bad and they may be out for more. I know I can't sleep at night knowing someone can just come along and ****** up my car.
Sorry for such the long post, but I'm sure ya'll understand.

Thanks alot

Drew

Well guys they found it, and they towed it to the police impound yard by the airport. The vehicle recovery team found it in Bithlo, I guess using LoJack. Looks like the people tried to hotwire it, because the ignition switch was torn out and mangeled. But other than that it looks ok. So now he is just waiting for the insurance company to do their thing.

Good stuff, glad it wasn't worse. Gotta love Lo-Jack, wish I had it.

LO-jack sucks in my opinion. The equipment required by the police to track it is expensive and many police departments do not have many of them installed.
What good is it to have lo-jack if the police can't look for it.

After reading this, I went looking at LoJack and I think
the guy is lucky they didn't get a few miles further into
the weeds with it; LoJack only works where they have
the radio direction finder towers up, and that's metro-only
pretty much (no help for us Brevard folks, looks like).
By the time you get out to Bithlo, got to be getting
pretty dicey.

Seems like there are a bunch of newer GPS*cell-phone
type options coming onto market now. Hopefully in a
year they'll have chewed each others' ankles off price-
wise. Seen some that are under $300 and no monthly
charges, just per-locate.

For grand theft auto? I thought you had to feel threatened. Now I'm not saying I wouldn't want to, just that I don't think I could get away with it. Please let me know how this bill reads.

something is odd

if i recall correctly, you cannot just "hot wire" a VATS car.

was it towed? they tried to tow my roommate's 2002 SS but he walked out just in time.

So would getting a powerlock system be pointless then?

www.powerlock.com

I'm fairly close to getting one installed.
