Default Electric Fans Question

Tell me if this makes any sense. If a single fan flows 2000 cfm, and you have two of the same fan. How do they together flow 3000 cfm? I'm not a math wiz or anything, but that **** doesn't add up. Would it have to do with the wiring that is provided?

Also, wiring them up, can't you use the existing wires just snip the pigtails and use those wires and extend them if necessary? Then they should flow 2000 cfm separately correct?

The two together should be 4000 cfms if used as puller fans .If they are being used as pusher fans though they are only 80 % or 3200 cfms. One puller and one pusher would be 3600 combined. This 80% figure comes from spal's tec site.I think the factory setup vary's the cfm flow as needed from low to a high of about 2200 cfm.

I'll be using them as pusher's. The stock wiring varies the speed of the fans? I thought it was on and off.

Good luck figuring out the hook up to the stock wiring. I ended up going with two relays and a after market temp probe and adjustable switch set up for my two not stock fans. I also notched my core support and moved the condenser far enough forward to sandwich a thin 16 inch pusher in between it and the radiator to allow better coupling with the radiator.

Should not be that hard to wire up the fans to the. If I am correct the light blue and gray are one fan and the blue is hot. And the Black and white are another fan, with the White being the hot. I am not sure what is confusing about that. If I am wrong please inform me. I have the hot and negative reversed though cause I am running a pusher instead of a puller

That's what I figured.

The ratio of flow difference going from puller to pusher is not a hard and fast rule, it depends on the specific design and the radiator fin density, just like different fan pitches work better or worse with different radiator fin densities.

not sure where the 2000 and 3000 cfm thing is comming from, but not seeing it I'm guessing it's either they are wired so one or both gets less power when both are running (could be as simple as they're wired in series with both running), or it could be that the second fan isn't positioned or shrouded as well or if you're talking about one being rear and the second front mounted...

They will both be pushers and hopefully use the stock wiring.
