TC78 single or twins On a 370ci LQ9... I already have one TC78 that I purchased from Jose at FI's and it looks like just running 2 of them would be easier to fabricate up. (using flipped C6 LS2 manifolds)
How long would spool time be running the 2 78's on that size motor?
Guess I just want some opinions on me running 1 vs 2 of these.

I'm not expert but if you want this to be a street car and have a nice powerband.. your better off going with smaller turbos. If its a track machine and you already have one of them then **** it, go big or go home.
Will spool like a supra with a big single, but there are lots of tricks available that the import guys have been using for a while to spin huge turbos.

So, twin TC78's would be one laggy bitch in other words... Well maybe not on a 408 or bigger but for now they would. I guess its back to the drawing board. Doing a single front mount on my GTO appears to be a pain in the ***!!

I agree completely!!! I thought that the full boost by 5200rpm was something I was willing to deal with until I could build a 408 but damn. If your single 76 spools at 5k, I would never see full boost...

My TC78 on 346 starts makeing boost under 1800rpm and is fully spooled (12psi)around 3k.
You need to check your manifold and flange gaskets for leeks as well as wastegate , and Intercooler pipes. your 370 should spool stupid fast !
What AR houseing are you running ?

My bad fella's, it's been a hectic last couple of days for me. Let me rephrase, because I meant full boost in that 3200-5k range depending on psi. On my 370, it starts spooling almost immediately...and at 2500 it is comin in...with full boost depending on psi usually at 3200 to 3800 on street tune and a lil higher for the race tune. Sorry for the condusion.
None-the-less, the tc76 spools super fast and is a great street turbo with some track potential too.

My TC78 on 346 starts makeing boost under 1800rpm and is fully spooled (12psi)around 3k.
You need to check your manifold and flange gaskets for leeks as well as wastegate , and Intercooler pipes. your 370 should spool stupid fast !
What AR houseing are you running ?

How much power are you making at 12psi?

Didn't get a very accurate reading on the dyno 550 rwhp, as it kept smoking up the tyres , conservative tune 11.5 AFR and 12 deg timeing , no meth.
stock motor , baby cam,valve springs and pushrods
exhaust houseing is a .96 ar
I have a forged 383 going in shortly, then i'll crank it up and bolt it to a hub dyno

How bout your hot side setup, what exhaust manifolds/ cross over tubing diameter and DP size? What size tubing on the cold side? I thought the TC78 spooled a little slower than the TC76 and you are getting that sort of spool characteristics with the Tc78 then I see no reason to not go with a tc78 unless you are really on a tight budget.

3" dowpipe into single 3 1/2" exhaust
Cold side is 2 1/2" on turbo side(will be upgradeing this shortly) and 3" on TB side .
Have a meth kit to go on with the new engine.
Honestly the TC 78 .96AR t4 spools a little quiker then my old MPT70 1.0AR devided T4.
