New personal best last night at the track. Started out hot and around 90 deg temps so that wasnt the greatest but as the night came the temps dropped and the boost was raised. Car was running consistant 9.90s leaving off the foot brake with a 1.7 60' and 140 mph. Finally turned the boost up more (15lbs) and then started having traction issues. Off the brake at 10lbs it would hook then when the front came down it would unload the rear tires and blow the tires off 60' out. One pas i was somewhat able to stay in it and clicked off a 9.82@147mph with a 1.6 60'. The mph is there, even when letting off slightly to let the tires catch up so 150mph shouldnt be a problem. Once i get the car to leave and cut a 1.2x 60' then itll run ***** out. Back in the garage for some suspension tuning for next trip out.

Good job. I remember when you were thinking of getting rid of the car. Its good to see you stuck with it. Its paying off now.

Got some new stuff in today, double adj Vikings with bearing upgrade on both top and bottom of the fronts and bearing lower upgrade on the rears. This should free up any stickiness the bushings were adding and should improve my 60' a ton over my leaking single adj. qa1's i had on the car.

Glad to see it out again! Did you get a final weight on at at the track?

Progressive or staged boost would help a ton as well.

Good luck!

No weight, the track scale was all sorts of messed up. My work does however have a set of scales so once it's back on the ground I'll scale it and see where I stand. As far as staging, once I hit the 2nd bulb I get it on the brake at 10lbs and let it rip. I don't think the radial pro likes that very much but hopefully these shocks help.

Got all the shocks mounted up today, ride height was a pain in the *** from a fresh start and different spring rate so it took some time to get it just right. The top conversion for the bearing upper normally bolts into place but because my upper mount was rusted before it didnt hold tight into place. So after getting it all mocked into place i welded it all together so absolutely nothing will move on it while i street drive it. The end result was well worth it over my single qa1's with one leaking, and the ball bearing upper and lower on the shocks makes the front end so much more lively vs bushings. Hopefully this upgrade will help my 60' out more!

So I can finally end the long question of how much is weighs, lol. This isn't too bad for a car with a cage and turbo kit that added a decent amount. Was hoping it was going to be a little lighter but I guess when you add on all the extra stuff like added electronics and bracing it adds up, not to mention a th400 and cromoly driveshaft.

And now just ordered a billet PTC converter for the car,
By the time I get back from my vacation I should have it, just in time to get to the track one more time before snow flys for some new numbers!

That's pretty damn light F-body! For comparison my RX-7 is the same race weight with a glide, 9", and full 12 gal cell. (i'm 200 or so) It was 3040 last I weighed it.

So after driving the new suspension around and settled in i readjusted the height and setup the roll bar how it should be. It damn near equaled out the rear but made front drivers side heavy due to the roll bar slightly preloaded.

I guess I should be a little more specific. Car goes straight but curious if its working efficiently or I can get it to hook up better. I just put new suspension all around, new converter and a 2-step so just making sure there's something I should do before I go out and let it eat. So not just going straight but working well in general.

update time:

We had a nice weekend so a few of us went out and hit the track up. Some of you know the b.s. iv been through with the car lately but the help has shown, lol. First pass off the trailer and leaving off idle it went 10.33@138, then i started to get after it. Set 2-step at 3000 which makes about 5lbs of boost and max boost around 13lbs and went 9.24@150 (new best time!), turned the 2-step to 3500 which gets me around 10lbs on the 2-step and turned the boost up to 17lbs and thats when i found the limits of the track. 9.35@150 and 9.42@150 were the following passes.

The new suspension and converter made a huge difference and the car goes straight as a arrow and 1 hand on wheel and other shifting is no problem at all so that made driving the car effortless! So i MAY change tires from the radial pro to something more forgiving on a less-then-ideal track but not sure. But for what is most likely the last passes of the year i got a damn good pass in, lol.
