My Trans Am truck manifold 76mm turbo build
Well since i put it up on the local forums and i am not sitting in class and bored i guess i will start a build thread here too
I was debating on options for the future of my car/ automotive hobby. After the past season i have gotten pretty bored with my car as it currently sat. I could never get the car to hook at the track, never really went enough to practice, lost interest. My old setup was a 231/237 cam, FAST 90 and 100 shot. For what it was the car was pretty fast. Pulled some pretty fast cars on zee highway, put up some good trap speeds, but it was time for something different. I was going to sell the car. I considered an 03-04 cobra, maybe another F body and start over. Also considered buying something more "responsible" and giving the car hobby a rest for a while. After weighing options i just said the hell with it, i only live once and its only money right?
I was originally going to do a D1sc procharger build, but after some persuasion from a couple friends i decided to go a different route....
Purchased a turbo, Master Power 76mm .96 a/r
I also have purchased:
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Tial 50mm bov
E bay front mount IC
Lq9 truck manifold and flanges (got for a good deal from a member)
Mototron 60lb injectors
switched from a FAST to an LS6 intake manifold
The car already has a built T56 transmission and Moser 9" rear end.
I am currently in the hunt for a K member, i will probably go with a PA racing one, my friend has one, its very nice for the money. I also plan on ordering my piping/ v bands etc later this week/early next week.
Im sure i will have many questions along the way, which is partially why i created this thread. I will also update as i progress. However i believe i am in good hands, my good friend TurboLs1SS is going to be my right hand man on this.. here is his kit he made, went 9.1 @ 150... i hope mine will turn out to be an equal work of art!

I am in no rush to complete this, I want to take my time and do this right. Bill (turbols1ss) is in charge of the fabricating and i want him to be comfortable and not feel rushed. If the car is ready for the WNYFbody.com spring cookout in May, that would be schweeet!

saweeeet!
i love building stuff like this, but like jim said, we're going to take our time and do it right. unfortunately for him, my life revolves around work right now and i have my car to get ready as well. BUT, i'm sure we will get er done with a lot of time to spare as head fab man on the project, i will take the liberty to say i'm excited to drive my backup M6 once it's complete since i went way overboard on mine! mwahahaha. jk. this will turn out nice though, i'm excited when my car had the 76gts with the M6, that's when it was the funnest to cruise around in the streets

I am considering selling by Master Power turbo in favor of a TC78 or possibly one of the borg warners. I am planning on doing the motor in the not too distant future and i know these other units flow more.
If anyone is interested in a BRAND NEW master power T76 , never used taken out of the box once to take pics, let me know, i just want what i have into it out of it and i will take some money off because the box is opened.
