Default Rear mount gto build. :) LQx REBUILD TO COME

ok, So i have been asking alot of questions latley about certain things. Im letting the cat out of the bag, Im doing a rearmount. I have every single part on order to this and some parts in the garage already. Im excited as hell about this build, i already have a built trans lying here waiting to go in. I hope to build this up and and have lots of fun. Im not doing a rear mount cuz its easier, im doing it cuz its different. I could take this to work and throw it on a lift and do what ever i feel like. Im doing this cuz its different, and regardless its my car, lol i will update this thread with pics as things progress and a dyno sheet as well. I will be running on e85 as well, as this is not a daily driver and fuel mileage doesnt bother me. The intial plan is to run 7 lbs, i will do springs and pushrods and run 9 to 11 lbs until she blows. Hope to see you all out and about soon!!! :3some:

for now, current parts ordered are
tial wastegate -
greddy BOV -
seimens 60lb injectors -
shurflo oil pump -
china-bay 31x11x3 intercooler -
3"ic piping kit, Gloss black -
walbro 255 pump -
turbonetics turbo (60-1 with a .68 divided hotside. T4 _____Until i can fund a tc76)
and tune, lolz. i will need someone to tune me on e85, but to get things rolling she will be tuned on 91 or 93 i think.
built (ish) 4l60e -
3200 stall Yank-

one last thing, Thank You to all of you that have answered questions and helped me along the way. I do appreciate it, You all are a bunch of great car enthusiates and i appreciate it. thank you.

Id like to throw a big thanks out to RICH @ HOODS PERFORMANCE for all his help and support. Hes has done nothing but go out of his way to help me with this project, and i cant thank him enough! THANK YOU RICH!!

Made a little progress today.

iNTERCOOLER PIPING IS GLOSS BLACK TOO SHOULD BE PRETTY,
INJECTORS SHOULD BE HERE TUESDAY ALONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP, AND THE OIL PUMP SHOULD BE HERE THURSDAY, AND HOPEFULLY SHOULD HAVE THE TURBO BY NEXT WEEKEND, NOT SURE, I GOTTA ARRANGE THAT WITH RICH, SO IN ALL, I SHOULD HOPE BE TO BE TUNED AND RUNNING ON E85 WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS!! MORE PICS TO COME AS PROGRESS PROGRESSES.

thanks sujo, i was told by a couple local FI guys running on E85 that the 60s will be good for 500 or 525 whp. so im really hoping.

Plus i wont be able to run much more then that, since the turbo is only a 60-1. A friends rear mounted GTO, his torque is rediculous, he making 508 whp and 616 wtq. itll be a good starter, for me and it pulls like a mother F'er Too!! . Plus its a turbonetics and in great shape, ive had it for awhile i should be able to upgrade later without spending to much more money. This is my first real turbo build, so its a learning experience. Lol, Im pretty excited.

God i hate waiting, lolz. the pump and injectors should be here by the end of the day thursday, and turbo by the weekend, arg.

EDIT: Does anyone know what the OD of the ls1 throttle body is, and what the OD of the LS1 MAF is? Im trying to get these three couplers and not sure of the size. i do recall that 4" was too big, and 3 was way to small? Any help? (im at work and my car is at home, or i would measure it, lol)

I think the MAF is 3.5 and the LS1 TB is 4".

Hopefully someone will confirm...

Damn, don't know if it's the same but on my LS2 a 4" worked with a clamp to a 3.5". The MAF was a little bigger than 3.5 but smaller than 3.75 so I just stretched it and it worked.

I bought the following starting at the TB:

TB to MAF = 4" to 3.5"
MAF to intake pipe = 3.75" to 3"

Had to make it stretch a bit at both MAF ends but it worked just fine.
