Default single 67 or 72

I know some guys may say its not worth it but right now i am running a 60 trim TTI kit with the mods listed in my sig. After a run in with a deer i am replacing the intercooler and the piping any way so it if i am going to upgrade the turbo now would be the time.

As you may know the TTI kit is very tight since the turbo sits down by the block and frame. My question would i see any real gain going to the 67 even a 20 or 30 wheel hp jump or should i just dig down and cram the 72 up in there.

I would like to see 480-500rwhp. The car made 451hp and 507tq with the 60 trim. I have been keeping boost and timing well on the safe side as well as the AFR but the issue is that the little 60 trim is just about maxed out already. Even with meth the little TTI intercooler was having issue's keep the IAT's down but i think part of that was due to limited air flow and small size.

Any input would be a great help. I dont want to waste the money on the 67 trim if i am not going to see any diffrence but at the same time i want to keep lag to a minimal.

How much boost are you running now? I'm to lazy to look, what's the 60 rated at hp wise? What were your iat's with the old ic?

You can do a TC76, which will be the same size as the 67 and make more power and spool very close. Then no need for upgrades later down the road.

I agree with DrTurbo, but I would really like to see some one use a TC66 for 500-560 to the tires. I believe in having only as much compressor wheel as you need to make the power you really want. It would be great with a .96 ar and the 68mm f1 wheel. The back pressure would be low and it would come on like a screw blower lol.

Right on Supercat.....

our Cartuning Kit on the 5.3L Ls4 with no rockers (just springs) and nothing else done to a stock motor made 505whp through the stock auto transmission (4T65E) on a T-66 with an e cover (3" in and 2" out) compressor and F1 68mm turbine wheel in a .81 AR exhaust housing @ 12 psi. 94 octane too!

edit: on a 3.8L engine which was modded with cam/heads through the same transmssion with the EXACT same turbo we made 624whp at 26psi also on 94 octane!

Where is a good shop to pick up a TC-66. The .96AR would be great for keeping manifold pressure and EGT’s down if I can still fit it up in there.

I say TC76 as I'm spooling up 2 66's with ease.

From what I found the turbonetics TC66 in a F1 trim from one web site I found for about 1000 bucks however it doesn’t list the exact AR size. Is size the only difference from the P1 and F1 trims, Also would it be worth spending the extra cash to upgrade to ball bearings. And where is a good source for me to pick one up from.
