for me since im cheap the ebay ones are good enough for me on that power level.
i cut and welded one endcap around and put a 4" outlet on it to make it a little more efficient since i have a welder and didnt cost me but the 4" bend.

will that also sounds like a good idea!! so all i would need is some alum. 4 inch end caps?
also does the intercooler have anything to do with overheating of the car in traffic?

over heating? thats what a radiator is for

the intercooler just brings your intake temperature down, so you might idle at a higher IAT in traffic, but once you get going again your IAT's should drop

I think he is talking about radiator air flow.

On my D1 set-up last year with a stock cubed engine and the procharger single big fan my car ran a little hot when it was like 100 outside but never too bad. You could run the a/c as well but it would jump another 10-15 deg or so. And the ebay intercoolers have been way fast so I wouldn't worry about it. Yes the more $ you spend it might end up showing a gain but not going to be a huge difference. On my turbo build this winter we cut off one end cap and welded on a new with the cap on top to get a better flow across the whole core compared to just flowing right across.
