Turbo's and auto's were meant to be together, but yes you can build boost with a 2 step.

yup, 2 step will help you out greatly. You're already a good driver if you are cutting 1.4x 60's in a 6 speed, it's just going to take some trial and error with the turbo setup.

You shouldn't rule out a Th400 though. I found my car to be A LOT more fun with the TH400 and was a 6spd die hard. Turbos + autos are like peanut butter and jelly.

I also wouldn't rule out an auto. Th400/powerglide with a transbrake and boost is where its at

I could build up to 6psi by pulling timing with the 2-step and a m6, probably could have got more but the track couldn't hold.

ok cool ya im eventually goin th400 but, turbos and 6spds werent meant to be together on hwys and auto jus cant hold against 6spd w/gearing.

can u build max boost on a 2step 6spd setup?

I really doubt it, unless you have a low boost setting, I cut 1.5x 60ft times leaving on 2.5 psi. It feels like it hits full boost at about 20 feet out

Biggest Auto myth ever! Th400's are great for highway racing.

could be wrong, but i think/hope he was referring to a manual car

launching turbos and autos go together like peanut butter and ladies. . .

but he's also on a 2 step, so he is building boost on the line as well. The trick with launching hard with a turbo setup is having boost on the line, and being able to hook just like any other setup.

A friend in college used a 2 step on his Supra. He eventually took it off because he couldn't hook. Granted they are very different cars but yes you can build boost with a 6 spd.

I suppose the fine tuning is a matter for your controller? For instance, my stock STI ECU can be 'taught' a launch control that builds boost with a lower rev limiter when in neutral, then once in gear it'll spin past 7k again.

You can get it to work pretty good at the track. But it will nearver be as fast as an auto.
