Default 241 casting heads and 20lbs of boost

I am building a 8.5 compression 370in LQ9 base motor. I am wanting to use my stock casting 241 heads witch i have had alot of work done to them ie 2.05/1.60 valves and alot of port work, with a good set of cometic head gaskets and head studs can i get away with putting 20lbs of boost in the motor with out pushing water ??

Ehhh, I dunno. They don't have a very thick deck. I'd be surprised if they stayed down.

I'm sure you will get a lot of conflicting opinions on this but... I think there is a good chance you will push a little water with that setup.

I have a 8.85-1 370 with ported 317 heads and I have been to 22psi a few times by accident lol and 19 on a regular basis, just make sure the tune up is right.... Detonation will lift the heads long before a straight up boost number will.

No water has moved in mine.

We've gone to 24 psi and made 1016 rwhp with no issues. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

I didnt know that any of the heads had thicker decks.
Since you are doing a LQ9 engine why not use those heads and not so big of a dish on the piston? Not that its huge but less dish is better for strength.
Im not sure but arent the 241's the 01+ ls1 and the 243 are the LS6 heads? If that is true arent the LS6 heads designed better with better flow. AND if THAT is true arent the 317 heads the same as LS6 heads but bigger cc.
What im gettin at is isnt the 317 heads better flowing? If Im wrong please educate me. I love to learn!

8 psi ain't nothing. You can run that on stock gaskets and head bolts all day.
