Default iat with trubo?

How many of you guys are runnin them with big turbos and is it nesscary?

yeah what fireball said. IAT are really important to know where they are. plus your ecm can pull timing as IAT go up to help save your motor

You must run one, it is direct relation to tuning the car properly.

run it, it helps a lot with tuning, get a threaded one off of a GMC cyclone, it has the same connector as a ls1 and threads in instead of just a grommet

Is there an 'ideal' location between the compressor and intake for the IAT?

Close to the TB mine is about 4-5 inches in from of the TB. I spray my Meth about 8 inches in front of that so the computer sees the drop in IATs from the Meth

as close to the throttle body as possible so the sensor can see any heat soak or variance in the tubing temps, but YES YOU NEED IAT sensor, thats second most important sensor off a wideband

IAT sensors are a must for a turbo car. Want to start yanking timing around 151 degrees and warmer, in my experience.
