I think I would do either the VA speed or Speed inc cam as they are actually intended for Turbo cars. The Brute speed cam is more for Blowers and the ls9 cam just happens to do well on boost.

With a MP T70 I would run the Speed Inc. grind.

You need to give more info. Atleast the size of the exhaust housing of the turbo. If you are using a single MP T70 with a 3" dp, I would for sure be looking at a reverse split like the VA Speed cam.

I'd look for a reverse split and the va speed is on the only one that fits the bill.

I just ordered a TU1 to try. I have been running a 239/233 but the car just doesn't run as well as it should.

What do you mean it doesnt run as well as it should? Are you expecting more power? Is the powerband in the wrong spot?

I vote custom grind. You don't buy one size fits all clothes so why buy a one size fits all cam?

I dont think my build is exotic enough to merit a custom cam? Its just a 76 on a stock ls1.

My only concern is that everything I had read about LSA and turbos is that it should be 114+ on a cam. Maybe 113 is close enough, lol

The car has the stuff to run 9s @ 140. It doesn't seem to respond to changes in boost and timing. It probably isn't a can issue I'm just out of ideas. Next step will probably be a part out.

speed inc Tu1, its perfect.

Its not too agressive( IE 600+ lift) but just agressive enough. Valvetrain will be stable at its intended RPM range and easier to tune with, rather than a gnarley *** cam.

Just my $2 dollar bill

TU1 has made over 900rwhp with a 76GTS on a 346.

This is my favorite, followed by the TU1.

My own cam testing, as well as INTM8's, showed that reverse-splits don't work that well. I lost power going from a 224/236 to a 224/224. He gained power every time he added overlap. Both of these test results go against the "common logic" of turbo cam choice.

I'd still go reverse split on that.

You guys are making very generalized comments here. Every combo is different. You aren't even on an LSx platform. You are talking apples and watermelons here.

Sure, but people have been touting reverse-splits for LTx and SBC's for years, and they don't work that well on those. I don't see where the physics of the LSx is that much different (v-8, 2v, similar cid, similar pressure ratios).

I've never seen a back-to-back dyno test where a reverse-split gained power over a conventional split. I have seen the opposite.

I don't run a reverse split in mine nor am I saying that reverse split is the answer to all your turbo cam needs. But when you are running a small exhaust housing for the cubes, a reverse split is beneficial IMO.
