I have the CAS kit, the only issue i have had was with the headers cracking, But to pull them and weld them is accually easy. I do it in about 3-4 hours. it isnt bad at all. But i believe almost any kit with stainless headers has this issue. Heat wrap or coating them might help.
The cas kit is a nice quality kit tho.
Good luck

Actually coating or heat rap will hold in more heat, which will cause more thermal expansion. Since the way CAS secured the headers does not allow enough expansion more heat would make them crack even more.

im impressed, the kit must really perform well, to say it is high quality, even after you have to reweld parts after cracking.

do you have any installed pics of this setup, i would like to see what the cas setup looks like, vs the incon that i have seen

Ryan.

Slow, it is quality, the headrs cracking seem to be the norm with any stainless header. I know some have had the same issue with the QMP as well as other custom kits so it isnt that big of a deal to me to pull them once a season and touch them up. I wouldnt recomend this kit to a no brainer with no mech skills, but for someone with ambition and that need for constaint speed it is a good kit, and everything ealse on the kit is A+
Jam, all the welds. it has small cracks on the flange and others on the flange for the turbo. I noticed mine with heat wrap done right seemed to have less this time then they did without heat wrap. JMO

I understand that any stainless steel fabricated header has the tendancy to crack, one of the reasons that if i ever decide to go turbo, i would like a cast manifold. Too bad they are not produced anymore.

I have access to a tig welder, and have a guy who knows what he is doing, so fixing them is not an issue, but it is just hard to buy a kit, that i know will have problems, that there does not seem to be a solution for. Repairs are alright, but i am the kind of person who would rather do it once, and do it right. (if possible)

Is the weight of the turbos helping to cause the cracking?

Stainless headers are not supposed to crack every year. Why would this be? Who started this idea? Maybe the people who make stainless headers?
