Default Best intake for Forced Induction

What is the best way to go with an intake for F.I?? Carb intake with elbow??? LS-6?? FAST??? or Edelbrock Pro-Flow?? I have no restrictions for intake height.. I know most of you guys run a 4th gen so you are limited to what intake height you can use without cutting th cowl, but I am putting this in a 1st gen, so i can use just about any intake out there and not have any clearance issues...the FAST seems to be a proven power maker, but its kinda pricey... I really like the Pro-Flow, but I havent seen many people use them to see how they perform.. What about Carb/elbow??? Any advantages to the single plane design, even though the elbow may be a bit of a restriction??

LOL look a few posts down I just asked the same exact question for about the same application as you it looks like I will go with the ProFlow but the LS6 seems to be the most favored for the space limited guys

Get the LS6 or Vic. Jr. The FAST Intakes dont seem to like boost from what I've heard. From what I know some people who rock them have boost issues with them and switch back to the LS6 and end up with better results. Plus, the 1k you save by using the LS6 can go towards something else in the build

LOL... woops, I see that now.. I really like the looks of the Pro-flow XT, but my only concern is that not alot of people are using it, and I really havent seen any results with it to see if it works well... I do have time though as I am in the planning stages right now... Should be ready to buy the intake in the summer if all goes well.... Plus I dont plan on spinning it to 7,000+ rpm, so I dont know if the benefits over the LS-6 or FAST will be worth it, if those intakes hang with the XT till 6500 or so

the new Holley intake will probably we the best bang for the buck. Not sure of the height of it. We are going to be testing one for them in a couple of weeks on a Procharged engine. Hopefully it does well,it looks very promising.

right now it's only made for the ls3 head,we are modifying one to work on catherdral port heads

i was really unimpressed with the Brodix head, all they did was copy an ls7 head, nothing different than stock except for maybe a little stronger casting. They really missed on this.

I believe that's what they call it.

It hasn't been released for sale yet. We are getting a prototype for testing.

Sounds good Shawn, when are you planning on testing the new intake??? Please keep us informed, as I am really interested to see how this works out.

Good to know about the Brodix head, sad to hear though as their SBC/BBC stuff is really good...I guess you wont be using testing them out huh?? lol ... I thought the LS7 was a decent head though?? Was it a fully CNC head?

I am really interested in it the long runners and large plenum look like it will flow real good especially with a forced inductions setup

On holleys website it says Jan 2011 release date

^ exactly. I remember reading about TRUST's car how it went from like 760s rwhp to 808rwhp with going from a ls6 to a victor jr. I dont know if he made any other mods but my vote is for victor jr and a good flowing elbow. Oh yeah and for the track guys I think it picked up some nice mph and lower ET.
