Default spark plug wires resting on headers..what heat shield can i use?

it looks like the multi angle msd sprak plug wires i have are not gonna completely clear the headers i got. they will be resting on some of the tubes. what heat shield can i put on my wires to prevent and misfires and burning the wires up? im guessing since its a turbo header its gonna need something that can handle some serious heat. thanks guys

pics? They make kevlar sleeves that can go over them, but they still arent meant to lay right on the header.

I used Heatshield's spark plug boots last year when I ran the infamous ebay kit. Never melted a wire.

DEI Protect-A-Boot and Wire Kits

Also, they have Protect-A-Boots separately. Summit have them.

I've run into this prob in the past. Nothing currently available will survive in direct contact with headers. What you need to do is zip tie the plug wires near the terminal to the coil brackets and pull them away so that they are no longer touching.

Yup, zip tie or wire them up and use the DEI shields. That's what I've done in the past, works well.

I have something very similar to these on my setup...and I was still able to nuke two plug wires in less than a week, in direct contact with the manifold. The silicone on the MSD wires got hard and cracked in several spots, showing down to the core of the wire, and was arcing to the manifold, resulting in two dead holes.
According to them, i was beyond the operational range of this product:
How much heat can Protect-A-Boots withstand?Protect-A-Boot is capable of withstanding 500° degrees of direct and continuous heat and up to 1200° degrees of radiant heat.
I'm going to pick up a set of these tonight and give them a try. They are rated for 1800F....the exhaust should not get hotter than that. We will see.

When fiberglass boot protectors failed the demands of Professional Racing, Thermal Control Products Inc. introduced a new high temperature spark plug wire protector.

Manufactured of a dual layered composite material and offering a continuous operating temperature of 1800°F, whilst reflecting 90% of the thermal energy generated in the engine compartment.

The heat shield is manufactured with a 45 degree beveled end, insuring the spark plug boot is fully protected from engine block and header heat.

Same here. Even with sleeves it burt up the wires. They need a air gap.
