I've talked to more than a few people that looked at me like a had a growth coming out of the side of my head when i talked about actually reading a spark plug.

Yep...I agree with LilJohn.
The edge of the center electrode is in way to nice of shape to have had the ground strap melted.
How long had those plugs been in the car ?
They seem pretty fresh from the look of the center electrode.
My best guess is that that plug was dropped at some point in it's life and the porcelain just gave up the ghost.

I think the porcelain cracked into pieces and one was small enough to get past the electrode with it in place but big enough that the piston came up and hit that piece of porcelain and it was in the right spot to break the ground strap off with it pushing against it.
the ground strap nub looks rounded off...but the center electrode doesnt.... which tells me that there wasnt alot of heat in the electrode but enough to round some edges AFTER the strap broke. If there had been enough heat to melt that ground strap off... the center electrode would be in ALOT worse shape than it is....
That failure was not timing nor tune induced... it was a pure part failure.

Thank you...I talked with him yesterday. He is s really cool cat. However he does not have any in stock. He helped me find one from a company on amazon. Their flange kits are cnd'd and not rolled tubing which IMO I prefer cnc flange
