I have not driven it yet. I tried to last night, but the return line was backing up. I will have to re-do that. The orifice is an inch wide for the return, and what I had was insufficient to properly drain the turbo. It should spool for me. I have the smallest A/R housing on the turbine side, so it should be responsive.

I finally got the bugs ironed out this weekend. I had to install a scavenge pump to get the Garrett to drain properly. It is not something I am thrilled about, since it is a component that can fail and cause a nightmare of oil loss through the turbo, but I was at my wits end with this and the only other option was to re-do the hot side to raise the turbo significantly. That would have required a different alternator setup as well. So, not something I wanted to do.

Anyway, many people have been asking about how this GT55 spools. I am happy to report that it spools just about as well as the S480 did. Pretty impressive for a 91mm turbo with a 112mm turbine wheel. I guess the .90 A/R exhaust housing helps.

Here is how it does on the anti-lag. This is just the footbrake. I have no transbrake.

I would not call it a problem. I detonated on cheap gas and I have pushed the AFR a little too far on C16. I am going to run it a little richer on the kill tune. I am also going to MS3 and ditching the Microsquirt. I have outgrown it and I need the expanded features and SEFI.

If you are going to an MS3 setup, go with the MS3-pro, or the EFI source "gold box"

Stay away from the MS3x setup with an LS engine, the crank input adjustments on the LS crank sensor, can drive you nuts with sync loss.

Was not aware of this. Certainly explains why I had to go to a hall sensor.

Just read through almost this entire thread. How much would you say that intercooler was worth? I'm shooting for around 850rwhp with a 347 S478/92 1.10A/R and am looking at the CXRacing 31x12x4 intercooler and am wondering if it will be a bottle neck.

Quick question? I just got a 4.8 trying to decide best turbo to go with. Which will be have more positive benefits for me? Less lag, more response either a on3 76mm or 78mm?

Took days...I read all of it. Glad I didn't read it before I bought my car or I would likely be building a Fox LS.

Denmah. The Notch thread lead me to this one. Hot Rodding at it's finest.

I don't really think that's a good point. Marks 170+ trap car has TONS of turbo. I'd bet good money he is seeing a healthy amount of pressure drop across that core... he just has enough turbo that isn't not a big concern.

Jumping up to the Treadstone equivalent of the common 12x32x4 china core Mark uses made a huge difference on my setup. Bet it would on his too!
