It may not be a bottleneck, but it won't cool like a quality core. That is the call you have to make, higher IATs can be defeated with meth/water as well. When I run C16, I pull the fuse for the meth...and the IATs get to about 125 at the end of the 1/4. With meth they are in the 90's, max.

Not that aux. inj isn't great and all... but Water/meth won't drop your IAT's to anywhere near what the sensor is reporting. I wish it did... no one would need an intercooler if those numbers represented your actual charge temps! Saturated IAT sensors shouldn’t' be used as any kind of tuning tool.

I don't really think that's a good point. Marks 170+ trap car has TONS of turbo. I'd bet good money he is seeing a healthy amount of pressure drop across that core... he just has enough turbo that isn't not a big concern.
Jumping up to the Treadstone equivalent of the common 12x32x4 china core Mark uses made a huge difference on my setup. Bet it would on his too!

marks combo is almost a mirror image of mine but i have slightly better stuff than him. matt and i agree my 70 extra horse come from these things. but you would think a holley hi ram, FAST throttle body and upgraded treadstone intercooler would make alot more than an extra 70 horse over a stock ls1 intake, throttle body, and **** CX ebay intercooler once again matt is proving that you dont NEED high dollar **** to have fun (spending money on my car and tinkering is therapeutic for me).
There are also a few "china" IC's with the same dimensions and different cores. My core was a tube and fin design 32x12x4. With a 4.8 I couldn't make over 4psi even on the T-brake. Swapped in the TS intercooler and went from an ls1 to an LS6 intake and I could make all the boost I want on the T-brake.
As Mark has shown us, spending a little more on the larger engine and turbo allows you to get by with much cheaper top end parts.

I agree, the $/HP ratio on "fancy" intakes and Intercoolers isn't there on a big cube low rpm engine. But that doesn't mean it's not holding back some good power.

This is the one that I was looking at. Like I said, it might not be ideal but I'd like to get the car running.

Time for an update. I put a 1.80 straight cut Glide in Leroy. This weekend I made my first test hits. I set a personal best, in terms of mph and ET, on significantly less boost than was required before with the 80E. Once we get the 60 foot dialed in, I expect even larger improvements. Here is a video of the best pass to date:
