got my gen4 **** today, wich you can see is so ****** beast like its awesome...

they look like aftermarket rods and pistons.

full floating wrist pin instead of a pressed, and the rod is a H beam style instead of a I beam hopefully much stronger, as i know people with gen4 **** making more power than me and not bending anything.

gapped all my rings to 28-30 so its ready for some abuse.
i plan to hit it with 30lbs if the ignition system will let me.

motors built, reused the ls1 head gaskets, and slammed it all in and bolted up the trans and connected a few things, and thats where i am quitting for the day, think i might do a compression check tomorrow as soon as i get the converter tight and put the starter in, to see what kinda compression its at now, since it has flat top 5.3 pistons in it now, gunna have more squish

I'm confused now. I thought 5.3 never had flat top pistons. Everyone says I have a 4.8 but avalanches in 02 had 5.3. How can I find out?

pretty rare but some are the flat top higher compression ones.

there is no way to tell for sure unless you check the rod and crank part numbers what motor you have.

The l33 aluminum block 5.3 has the ls2 style rods with 4.8 flat top pistons.

Look at he crank number to see what motor you have Alex.

well it wont be totally fair since i am pretty sure that brings my compression over 10:1

but it will be neat to see what it puts down on wastegate.

since it was 600whp on 20psi like clockwork before...

wastegate was around 16psi

Did you replace / swap bearings when swapping rods and pistons? (Did you reuse your old bearings from the old rods, or the bearings that came with the new rods...)

Do anything to the crank?

Any info on that is appreciated. Thnx!
