im going to the texas supra meet thursday, but i wanted to get it on the dyno soon, my friend has a mustang dyno with heavy rollers im gunna throw it on there with the Tru boost, boost controller and get her ready for the track.

yeah ARP head bolts.
we've done a few 4.8s with stock head gaskets and bolts on 20-21lbs, my friends turbo truck being one of them, no problem.

hmmm.

should i add ls9 head gaskets to my 5.3 or keep the stock ones and boost away?
70k mile motor.

how much power and how much boost? keep it under 20lbs and just keep all the stock ****.

if it lifts just buy ARP bolts and swap them in one at a time, weve done that too.

ls9 gaskets are more than i pay for an entire motor in most cases lol

One of my favorite statements YET!!!! LOL

I paid $100 for my 4.8L...fun running low 11's on an engine that is cheaper then filling up my Duramax!

you will be totally fine, i start on 15lbs with these motors, they are BEASTS.

leave it all stock, leave it together, dont even pull a valve cover.

same turbo as yours.

this 4L65 was touchedby god i believe when it was built..lol'

ive been beating on it for the past 2yrs and it has never gave me a problem.

the car went 10.75 at 130mph with a cam and a 175 shot and it always shifted nice.

well see how long it lasts

Very nice build man, that is sick as hell. I hope my pile runs as good as that. Got boned on my 1st track day due to weather. Next race is the 23rd.

Might I ask, what is done to your TH400, and what stall you are running?

i bought the stall and trans on craigslist for 500 dollars.

its stock with a valve body i think, and its a BDR 3500 with a balloon plate.

but this is all just what the guy told me, i have no idea.

oh and i got my boost controller today

Nice build man! Where are y'all getting these motors so cheap? Every where around here wants over 800 bucks for just a 4.8 and even more for the 5.3 and 6.0
